07.01.2022 It is with much sadness that I announce that Kitty Rose Couture will be closing. We have reached the end of our lease and we can no longer stay in our current location. From myself and the team I'd like to thank you all for making Kitty Rose what it is, without you guys we would not have had such a wonderful time here at 210 Sydney Rd over the last 3 years. We have loved meeting you all and sharing our love of pin-up and rockabilly with you. We will be focusing on online fo...r the time being and bringing you more of what you love, wider ranges and brands and better prices. Keep an eye out for announcements on our facebook and instagram pages for when the new site will be live. We will also look into doing some pop-ups in the near future. Our last trading day will be the 27th of May. We will be having a big end of lease sale so come say goodbye and pick up a bargain! Join us at feminist-own and run cafe Handsome Her for a night of drinks and discussion on #metoo, #timesup and what it means for feminism. Since Harvey Weinstein fell in October and the #metoo movement was born, weve seen a groundswell of women speaking up about their experiences of sexual harassment and rape, which is leading, finally, to men who have committed sexual assault being held to account. The #timesup campaign was the talk of the Golden Globes, with famous women and activists standing in solidarity with female farm workers who have experienced assault. With the seemingly woke Aziz Ansari the latest person implicated in the grey area between sexual assault and bad sex, what does this mean for our lives, our relationships, and for feminism? What still needs to shift for women, men, and other genders to reach the point where we have equal rights to good, consensual, wanted sex, entered into with respect? Can hashtag feminism and the power of online movements create a level of support for women that was never possible before?
