23.01.2022 Due to the forecast heavy rain the Moreton Bay Regional Council has advised all three of its outdoor Australia Day events have been cancelled. These are the events at Bribie Island, Redcliffe and Strathpine. Redcliffe RSL says their flag raising ceremony will still go ahead from 7.30am. Old Petrie Town will still be holding the recovery of the time capsule on Saturday afternoon.

16.01.2022 Just to clarify any confusion about Australia Day celebrations. Tourism Qld have nominated this Sat. 23 Feb for people who missed the day due to the crazy weather to celebrate. As far as we are aware there are no events in the Moreton Bay Region specifically for this so it's just about having a great day whatever you are doing in true Aussie spirit. Below is what Tourism Qld have sent: Tens of thousands of Queenslanders and visitors are expected to get into the Australia Day II spirit this Saturday 23 February at a series of events and activities across the State such as street parties, community barbecues and other Aussie-themed activities. 03.01.2022 Ring in the New Year with Fireworks over the beautiful Pumicestone Passage. "Bribie Lights Up" New Years Eve Festival is on at Brennan Park, Bribie Island. Fireworks at 8pm and Midnight. Entertainment, rides, stalls, food and drink from 11am. Celebrate the New Year, Island Style!!
