22.01.2022 Your music learning journey is one of the most rewarding and exciting journeys you will ever take...and yes it is also one the longest journeys you'll ever take! So sure it won't happen overnight...But that's adventurous part of it all! And perhaps in a world where everything happens by a click of a button, music gives us a much needed change of expierince. Something that teaches us perseverance, patience, endurance and determination (to name a few). Rememb...er that evey practice, evey lesson is adding up l and MATTERS! "Success isn't overnight. It's when everyday you get a little better than before. It adds up." Dwayne Johnson

19.01.2022 Our Koala Keys Piano had a special visitor today, the piano tuner My students, who have digital pianos, have been asking me about what the piano looks like inside and what does it sound like when it's being tuned so here we go...the great unveiling of what is inside the piano! The interior of the piano is very facinating for sure! . .... ..#paiano #pianotutorial #redlandsqld #spring #springholiday #redlandbay #musicteacher #pianotuner #pianolessons #pianoteacher #pianotechnique #pianopractice #pianotips #pianolesson #pianocover #piano #pianoplayer #termbreak #socialdistancing #pianomusic #pianoplaying #playingpiano #pianolover #pianolove #pianostudent #pianokeys #pianoteaching #Pianist #lifeofapianist See more

19.01.2022 Learning new songs is heaps more fun when there are favourite colours and matching stekeez involved! Poppy did such a great job hunting for all the different notes, naming them, colour coding them and playing her new song so well from the very first go! 18.01.2022 Why do we learn music? What makes it special and unique? Among the many reasons for the purpose of music education, I believe that this quote captures something profound! "The true purpose of arts education is not to create more professional artists. It's to create more complete human beings who are critical thinkers, who have curious minds, who can lead producctive lives"... Kelly Pollock

16.01.2022 This week, everyone is learning more about the art of performance and how do deal with nerves. We've been talking about how it is actually a good thing that we get nervous before performing and leading up to it. Getting nervous means that we really care about it and we want to do well, which is a great thing! The important thing to always remember to work with those nerves not fight them or get scared of them. Hoping you'll enjoy the experience of performing at the concert!

14.01.2022 I set up the piano room's Christmas tree on Thursday! And my students have been helping me decorate it! There are still more ornaments in the box for my Monday to Wednesday students next week to help me with. This is amazing team effort. All I did was put the lights in and they've been helping with the rest as a special treat after the lesson. Thanks everyone Can't wait to show you all the finished results

13.01.2022 First week back for NSW students! Yay! Lilliana hit the ground running today with her favourite Disney song...Beauty and the Beast! We both couldn't stop smiling as we worked our way through chords and smooth melody fingering.

12.01.2022 New music games have been added and assembled to our games collection. I can't wait to play them with my students in term 4! I think that game time is everyone's favourite time of the lessons (me included ) Games help kids learn theory concepts, notes reading, rhythms, music terms, and lots more in a fun and engaging way (and it is also heaps faster to learn through games!) Among the new ones are:... Snowman building Ice cream March up Bump up Musical Flowers Fishing for Pairs Hide and Squirrel Collect the coins Pit spot ...I think we might need a new and bigger folder soon !! . . . #musicgames #pianogames #paiano #redlandsqld #redlandbay #pianotutorial #classicalpiano #pianolessons #pianoteacher #pianotechnique #pianopractice #pianosolo #pianos #pianotips #pianolesson #piano #pianoplayer #pianomusic #pianoplaying #playingpiano #pianolover #pianolove #pianostudent #pianokeys #pianoteaching #Pianist

12.01.2022 Miss Emily is playing "March of the Cubs" for us today!! She's been working so hard on all her pieces and scales for her exam next week! And she is sounding really great! Way to go Em!! So proud of you!

12.01.2022 So Mr M was a little suspicious when I told him that the piano has 88 keys! He was thinking at least ...So like any true explorer, he had to double check the rumours and find out for himself! Well, not only did we proove by extensive research and field work that the piano indeed has 88 keys, we then went on to learn more about playing chromatic scales! I love it when my students ask questions and explore music and the piano! The best place to learn new things is to ask questions and explore! You never know what you'll find out and learn!

11.01.2022 March of the Gnomes by Kevin Costley is such a fun piece! Olivia is doing a wonderful job to capture the different characters in the song! I especially loved how she played that last chord of section B before the main theme returns! Well Done

10.01.2022 I have been asked by students and their parents about what they should do when they don't feel motivated to practice! And while there are so many solutions and strategies to explore to overcome this, I think it is also important to remember that "you won't always feel motivated". So don't be surprised if that happens to you. Because no matter how passionate you are about music and learning your instrument, you are going to hit a brick wall eventually... and that's when you just have to decide to keep on going, be consistent, be disciplined. I promise it'll be hard sometimes BUT it'll pass and it'll be worth it. You'll get over that hurdle and the motivation will return!

09.01.2022 A special moment from a few weeks ago. Mia created a really lovely black-key improv at home and was able to play it again for me in her lesson! Well done Mia you've got a lovely touch and beautiful phrasing! Absolutely loved it!

02.01.2022 This is so true... speaking from experience! Sometimes opportunities float right past your nose. Work hard, apply yourself, and be ready. When an opportunity comes you can grab it." Julie Andrews

01.01.2022 Collect the Coins is becoming a new favorite game this week! It's a fun game where we get through so many rhythm questions , read so many notes as fast as we can and play all the piano notes by name ! We do all this while trying to avoid the grupmy leprechaun who will claim one of our coins and hope to land on a happy leprechaun who will give us a coin! .... . . . . . . . @greensidemusic . . . . .
