REGISTER FOR ZOOM DEETS Deb Brydon Deb Brydon is a primary music specialist who returned to music teaching after working as a Senior Project Writer with Education Queensland’s Curriculum into the Classroom project, writing for Music and The Arts. In 2020 she earned national accreditation as a Highly Accomplished Teacher. She has taught primary school music for over 20 years in both Charters Towers and Brisbane. Deb has been an accredited do-re-mi teacher and has also taught Classroom Music at Griffith University. She has been on the Kodály Qld committee for 19 years and was recently awarded Honorary Life Membership. Deb has been the project co-ordinator for Kodály QLD’s DVD Projects including Musical Beginnings, Middle Years Music Education and Step Up With Music. She holds an Australian Kodály Certificate (Early Childhood) and is currently President of Kodály QLD. She lives in Mugan-djin (Brisbane), on Yagara Country with her husband and 3 children. Debbie O’Shea Debbie O’Shea is an enthusiastic and experienced music educator. Her qualifications include a Masters of Music Studies, a Graduate Diploma of Music Education, a Bachelor of Education, and the Holy Names Kodaly Summer Certificate (California - held in Brisbane). In 2020 Debbie earned national accreditation as a Highly Accomplished Teacher. Debbie is passionate about supporting music educators through Crescendo Music Education. She has worked as a classroom teacher, primary music specialist, early childhood music teacher, curriculum writer, lecturer, workshop presenter, massed choir conductor, composer. She has had the honour of working with The Department of Education Queensland, Catholic Education, KMEIA Qld, Musica Viva in Schools, Music Count Us In, UQ and Griffith University. Currently, she works as a Primary Music Specialist for the Department of Education Queensland.

Dr Tóth has worked with people from all walks of life and has incredible stories to share about the power of singing and music-making for change. Dr Árpád Tóth is one of most well-known International Kodály-educators of his generation. He is a lecturer of methodology, solfège, chamber music and choral conducting at the Liszt Academy of Music, Budapest and the Kodály Institute in Kecskemét. Dr Tóth also teaches at the High School of the Hungarian University of Arts and lectures at Partium University, Romania. Dr Tóth is the director and founder of Hungary’s largest community Choir, ‘Csíkszerda’ and the artistic director of vocal projects: Barefoot Opera Company and ‘Night of Choirs’ Choral Festival in Budapest. He has weekly experience teaching music at every level and age group, from beginners to professionals, from 5 years old to seniors. 14.08.2021 We are beyond excited that Susanna Saw can join us from Malaysia for our special online panel event! You don't want to miss hearing her incredible story! Monday 8th November, 7pm AWST AGM to follow at approx. 7:45pm REGISTER FOR ZOOM DEETS... Susanna Saw is an active music educator promoting music and choral education in Malaysia. She obtained her Master in Music Education (Choral Focus) from Westminster Choir College, U.S.A. She is currently a Lecturer and Choir Director at the Faculty of Music at University of Malaya (UM) and the Malaysian Institute of Art (M.I.A.), where she conducts the M.I.A. Ladies Chorus, which has won many Gold Medals from various international competitions. In 2007, Susanna established the Young Choral Academy in Kuala Lumpur, a venue for choral lovers to learn more about vocal and choral education. She was instrumental in bringing the Kodály Teachers’ Training Course to Malaysia to improve local standards of classroom music teaching. She organised the 24th International Kodály Symposium in August 2019, in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia, and through this, hopes to bring more awareness on the Kodály teaching philosophy to the Southeast Asia Region. From 2007 on, Susanna has been regularly invited by the Interkultur Foundation, Germany, to be a member of the Jury for the Asia Pacific and World Choir Games. Susanna has been appointed a Working Committee for the Asia-Pacific Choral Council, under the auspices of the International Federation of Choral Music (IFCM). Susanna is also an active speaker at various Music Education events promoting effective music teaching in the 21st century.
