09.01.2022 **Event Update** Unfortunately due to the current round of snap lockdowns and restrictions, organisers have made the difficult but necessary decision to cancel the 2021 Kokoda Beach Classic for the second year running. This event typically brings participants together from all states across Australia to fundraise and honour our veterans while taking part in an active challenge on the Gold Coast, but it’s clear the event this year cannot go ahead in its original format as was ...planned. Participants who have already entered will be invited to roll over their entry to next year, or where not available, a full refund will be processed on request. 2022 is the 80th anniversary of Kokoda and we hope to honour our veterans en masse then. The Rotary Club of Broadwater Southport and its members still hope to host a smaller covidsafe community walk this year on Sat 18 Sept at 0830 from Southport Surf Lifesaving Club (Main Beach) to Broadbeach Surf Life Saving Club and invite the public to come along for free and still remember the occasion.
