18.01.2022 MID WEEKY TIKI IS STILL ON As we continue to monitor the unfolding situation and stay across the official health and workplace advice provided by the World Health Organisation and ACT Health, we wanted to provide you with an update on the precautionary measures we are putting into place at Kokomo’s to protect you, our team, and the wider Canberra community. These include: - Increased sanitisation of high touch areas (eg. door handles, handrails and counters)... - Providing as much distance as possible between tables and staggering bookings - Encouraging our staff to remain home if they feel unwell for any reason We also ask you to practice good hygiene and take care of yourselves! Prior to this, our main aim had been to remain open as long as possible with the sole aim of supporting our staff who are our family. Announcements today from both the Prime Minister and the ACT Government to shut down all "non-essential services" has left us with no choice but to close our doors for now. Whilst it has been a difficult decision we make it with the hope that if al...l Australian's follow these guidelines now and take the recommendations seriously, the COVID-19 situation will improve. We are great at innovation and are almost ready to launch exciting new products and options to be home delivered to your door so please watch this space and show your support when these options are up and running. 11.01.2022 Meet our Venue Manager Isaiah. An update to this story since he and Lucy spoke. We have been in discussion with AHA (Australian Hotels Association) in terms of how to interpret "the Indoor ban of Gatherings of 100 or more"... Kokomo's is a venue with two separated levels. Each with their own bar and public restroom facilities. This allows us to host 100 people on each floor within the recommended Government guidelines. We will have some rules to follow of course, with the expectation that our patrons will be kind and considerate by adhering to them for the comfortability of all our guests!. To quote our Venue Manager. "Everything is changing hour by hour at the moment, Kokomo's will abide by whatever the government asks us to do, but we will stay open as long as we can because people get sick of being home."
