25.01.2022 In Garden Club last week the children in the Senior Pre School enjoyed a day inside while it was still raining. The children explored the Woolies booklets that come with the little seed containers. The children chose to place ticks next to the things they have in their own gardens at homes and they also did the worm maze. This was a lovely experience with many stories about their own gardens being told. The children also planted carrots in cotton wool in two different containers and they will be placed on a window sill in the preschool room and will nurtured until they are big enough to plant out in their garden. Next the children want to plant peas so now they are all busy planning and getting a perfect site to grow the crunchy, tasty pods . We can’t wait to see how they all grow!! .

13.01.2022 **** URGENT *** Dear families, Recently a development application has been made to Richmond Valley Council to build a childcare centre next to the United petrol station in Casino. We at Kookaburras feel this proposed location is NOT a suitable site to build a stimulating learning environment for children to play and learn. Petrol stations pose a multitude of risks and health concerns as outlined in our petition to the Richmond Valley Council. As concerned residents o...f Casino, we have a duty to advocate on childrens behalf and voice any concerns which may pose a threat to childrens health and safety. If you feel the same as our educators do, we strongly encourage you to sign the attached petition below. -Kookaburra Staff https://www.change.org/p/richmond-valley-council-stop-the-a*

Claire and Vienna each found worms and Caitlyn and Hugh found very small millipedes. Eli was lucky enough to find a few of our last beans of the season to snack on . And to finish off a perfect day in the beautiful Autumn sunshine, the children made a special Fairy Garden together. A special thanks to Nate and Jack in the toddlers room for being great helpers and filling up the watering cans and bucket for the preschoolers.
