11.01.2022 Welcome to the Koondoola Primary School Interactive Bushwalk reveal. We look forward to sharing this amazing resource with our students and community for many years to come.

10.01.2022 STEM Extension students need your help! Koondoola Primary School competes in the international robotics First Lego League competition. In 2019 when competing against many other primary and high schools, both government and private, we won the regional Judges Choice award. On December 3rd students will be heading off to compete in our robotics regional again. Students code and battle robots but are also required to complete a community project.... Students were asked to tackle a fitness problem as a community project this year. The video below is their first filmed rehearsal explaining their technology based solution. They are seeking your feedback to help them improve. Please take a moment to watch their presentation and then complete the quick survey Survey: https://forms.office.com/Pages/ResponsePage.aspx

09.01.2022 Dear Koondoola Community, On the 7th of November I will be undertaking the Big Plunge (abseiling off Central Park Tower in Perth) to raise funds for 12 Buckets. For those who don’t know the 12 Buckets organisation provides support for students at our school. Many students have benefited from being mentored by a large group of dedicated volunteers. Their ongoing support for our school helps students involved in the program to navigate the many challenges young people face. We ...are very proud of how the 12 Buckets program impacts positively on the lives of students at our school. We are seeking any small donation you may be able to make to keep 12 Buckets supporting schools and young people. To donate please follow this link https://cpp20-12buckets.everydayhero.com/au/ian For more information about 12 Buckets please follow this link. https://www.12buckets.org/ Thank you

09.01.2022 On Wednesday our year 4 and 5 indigenous students visited Sacred Heart College in Sorrento. This was part of our ongoing partnership with the College. Year 10 students have been working closely with our students to design signs for our new cultural walk. A huge amount of research was undertaken by the students to ensure the correct Noongar translations were made. The cultural walk will be opened next Wednesday as part of our NAIDOC Day celebrations. Our students had a wonderful time visiting thier buddies and were great ambassadors for our school. We look forward to more exciting projects with Sacred Heart next year.

08.01.2022 It was my pleasure to host our first ever end of term Principal Lunch today. Two students from each class were selected by their teachers for showing outstanding attendance throughout the term or consistently demonstrating our school values of: Unity, Responsibility, Perseverance, Caring, Achievement and Respect. It was wonderful to have lunch with such excited and well mannered students. The pizza and ice cream was very popular!! Im really looking forward to seeing who will be selected for next term. Thanks to Mrs Fanelli for organising.

06.01.2022 Students enjoyed story telling, weaving, traditional food and cultural talks during our 2020 NAIDOC celebrations. Thank you to all our special guests and wonderful team of helpers.

01.01.2022 Welcome back to Term 4 It has been a very smooth start with students settling back into routines really well. I would also like to welcome all new students to our wonderful school. Last week the state government announced no relaxing of the Phase 4 Covid-19 measures until the end of the year. Unfortunately this means the restrictions on parents attending assemblies will continue for 4th Term. Luckily Mrs Em will upload a video of the assembly to our facebook page for you to ...watch in the comfort of your home. The social distancing rules will also have an impact on our graduation and presentation assemblies. We will advise of the arrangements for these two events in the coming weeks. I would really like to thank all parents for your support and understanding around the Covid-19 measures we have had to put in place during 2020. We are all looking forward to things returning to normal in 2021. Have a wonderful week, Mr Ralph See more

01.01.2022 What an amazing way to start our NAIDOC celebrations at Koondoola Primary School. Today our year 4 and 5 Aboriginal students unveiled their signs throughout the KPS Interactive Bushwalk featuring both Noongar and English translations. The Bushwalk Signs project was started to create a space that would recognise and celebrate the language and culture of the Traditional Custodians of this land. ... Together with the help of Year 10 Sacred Heart College students, the children researched their animal or plant displayed on their sign. This information was used to form the basis of the information reports found on our KPS Online Indigenous Hub. Each sign features a QR code which scans through to a webpage featuring details, links, videos, pronunciations and more. Today C block, B block and A2 toured the amazing new interactive walk and we look forward to welcoming the remainder of our students through the walk as NAIDOC celebrations continue this week. A video of today's speeches and Acknowledgement of Country delivered by year 6 student Zariah Hart will be posted soon!
