I know I feel a whole lot more stable when I am making sure I prioritize getting a bit of fermented food in my daily intake. How about the gut brain connection? Ever given it much thought? 23.01.2022 What a wonderful weekend. I had the absolute pleasure of joining Amanda at her Gut Health workshop in Emerald on Saturday. Ive sat in on a few of these events now and I collect gems of information every single time! These sessions are jam packing with information and Amanda knows her stuff!! I was humbled and grateful to be invited along again as a guest speaker. It was wonderful to see so many people taking the opportunity to get themselves EMPOWERED and learn about G...ut Health! And many attendees took home sauerkraut to get them going on their healing journey. Chuffed!! I enjoyed meeting a wonderful bunch of people and looking very much forward to doing it all again in Clermont in a fortnight!! See you in Clermont on 15th August!!! If you couldnt make Emerald, I can highly recommend trying to get along to Clermont. You wont be disappointed!! It will sell out for sure!!

22.01.2022 Took a leisurely moment this morning amidst the excitement of presenting my class today. I immersed myself in a mindful breakfast eating what Im teaching today in every sense. This is my all time favorite (& easy way) to consume ferments. Sauerkraut & poached eggs on sourdough with a tonne of cracker pepper. Love days that start with this. Oh thats right - when you learn to make your own, you can start everyday like this if you want. (Or my dedicated & loyal kraut cust...omers - you can just keep buying it if you dont want to make it ). Happy Sunday!!

18.01.2022 Moranbah Friends - Now is your chance to get your hands on some Sauerkraut. PM the awesome Carly Bayliss to secure your jar of bubbling goodness. For those who grab a jar from Carly.... these wild ferments are alive. Heres a few tips & FAQ:... Take care when opening incase there is still some bubbling action. They are about 3 weeks into the fermentation so the main active stage is over. Youll find a vege cap on top. This is designed to keep the oxygen off your sauerkraut. I generally keep it & pop it back on as you are consuming your jar. It just helps protect your Veges from any nasty airborne bacteria. Have a taste - if you like the flavour now, pop into the fridge. Refrigeration will slow the fermentation down. If you would like them a bit more tangy - keep on the bench a bit longer (for up to 2 months out of direct sunlight). Eat a rainbow.... this refers also to probiotics - there will be various strands of probiotics that are more prolific at different stages of the ferment so aim for several different aged ferments & other fermented foods/drinks for a well rounded rainbow for beneficial gut health. Add a spoonful a day and work up towards a spoonful in each meal. I love kraut on my poached eggs, a top a salad at lunch & as a condiment at dinner (and mostly on a ploughmans platter at happy hour). The curry kraut is delightful on a whole roasted sweet potato with a blob of cashew or sour cream. Yum!! When heated, the probiotic availability reduces significantly or is diminished. Use clean utensils for serving & reseal as soon as possible to reduce possible contamination. Once refrigerated, and if kept uncontaminated, due to the naturally occurring preservatives, these can last for many months. Discard if you detect a sulphur smell upon opening or any fuzzy mould growth. White powdery specks is ok - it is a form of yeast that is not harmful. You can scrap off that layer & still consume. 13.01.2022 Oooo YUM!!! I played with a new combo this week. Im calling it GREEN FUSION.... Its green & wombok cabbage, spinach, kale, coriander, lemongrass, galangal, ginger, garlic, chilli & green mango. Its absolutely delicious!!!! Ill have a dozen jars of this flavour, along with: Beetroot, Fennel & Dill Amandas Special (cabbage & salt only) The ever Popular - Curry Red - Radish, onion & caraway All available at Amanda Mullemeisters Gut Health Seminar in Clermont tomorrow from 9am - 12.30pm. Cant wait to share space with all the beautiful Clermont Gut Lovers!!!

12.01.2022 Its taken a couple of days to step down off the cloud of excitement after a sell out (overbooked in fact) Chop & Share class in Gindie on Sunday. We had a absolutely beautiful group of ladies all interested in Fermented Food, Gut Health and Building Connections. The day went superbly (minus a small salt supply issue that was quickly rectified by the amazing Kirstin Fiona). Everyone took home a lovely variety of Curry, Thai & Beetroot Sauerkrauts to nurture over the coming... weeks. We also shared some absolutely beautiful gifts with each other of our time and quality conversations. Our shared lunch was most certainly a highlight as well. I am bursting with pride and overwhelming gratitude for the way the class was received and I just cant wait to share this class with the other upcoming sessions and private groups that are booked. I am eagerly working on a few more dates as well and am finding I am selling out each batch of kraut before I even get to list it for sale. It would appear this magic cabbage (as a loyal customer calls it) has won over a few hearts. I love creating & sharing equally and look forward to all that the next chapter of The Ferment Chop Shop might hold. I have created this private group (thanks for the inspiration Claudette Rolfe), if you have attended this most recent class, or an earlier Chop & Share Day, I invite you into this private group, where we can share our bubbling goodness adventures, I will share pictures of my fav ingredients that I used in the workshop and my creations, you are welcome to share your experiments and ask questions, and I can keep you posted when there are other events and when the Kraut Pounders arrive. 09.01.2022 I met Brooke from Ornabellas in Clermont recently. What a gem she is!! People often ask me about Kombucha. I have shared many many SCOBYs over the years. ... I have made it on & off for at least 7 years. Im off making it at the moment - Im running my Busy story at the moment. Turning out 100 jars of kraut a week is kind of consuming. So heres a great little story about Buch and a recommendation from the knowledgeable Brooke on a ready made Kombucha that might also interest my followers. Ornabellas is in Clermont if you need to pop in to see Brooke for some additional Gut Health advice.

Amandas Gut Health Seminars are so full of information and every time I attend I learn something new & concrete in something else. This seminar is well worth your time if you can get along to another one. Ill continue to share these events when the next roadshow dates are released! Thanks Amanda - ...I Love Your Guts!!! Brooke from Ornabellas - it was lovely to meet you & I feel like this is the beginning of a long friendship. And your delightful partner - what a gentleman! 03.01.2022 Colleagues & Friends Nothing beats a spontaneous dinner with friends. In our overly Connected world that we live in, it sometimes feels like we are often disconnected. Zoom is our new norm. But the electricity that generates when you actually connect in person with people can never be beaten!!! The importance of finding your tribe is hot topic and sadly sometimes only dreamt about but when it is actually realised.... thats when the authentic glowing happens! ...
