24.01.2022 Poverty is a Quality of the Heart Poverty is the quality of the heart that makes us relate to life, not as a property to be defended but as a gift to be shared. Poverty is the constant willingness to say good-bye to yesterday and move forward to new, unknown experiences. Poverty is the inner understanding that the hours, days, weeks, and years do not belong to us but are the gentle reminders of our call to give, not only love and work, but life itself, to those who follow u...s and will take our place. Those who care are invited to be poor, to strip away the illusions of ownership, and to create some room for the person looking for a place to rest. The paradox of care is that poverty makes a good host. When our hands, heads, and hearts are filled with worries, concerns, and preoccupations, there can hardly be any place left for the stranger to feel at home. (Henri Nouwen) "Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?" JAMES 2:5 (NIV)

17.01.2022 The Lord of my soul King of my heart Jesus it's You

15.01.2022 Deuteronomy 11:26-28 "See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse, the blessing if you obey the commands of the Lord your God that I am giving you today; the curse if you disobey the commands of the Lord your God and turn from the way that I command you today by following other gods, which you have not known."

15.01.2022 From Ravi Zacharias - now at Home with the Lord 19-5-2020 "Every one of us has a unique reach and a very unique voice, a very unique realm in which we live. Let's never underestimate the power of a life. You know, I was walking this morning, I'd taken some clothes to a laundry nearby and I saw a woman talking to a guy sitting on the side of the road, a homeless guy obviously. And I thought, what causes someone to stop and talk to this gentleman here? Obviously some degree of... compassion. Is she a professor? Is she highly educated? Is she an intellectual? Is she just a caring woman who wanted to engage this guy holding onto a mug of coffee? Jesus would talk to those with the hurting and the wounded of this world. It was not just the Saul of Tarsus, not just the Nicodemus, he talked to the woman at the well, he talked to the woman who had been taken in adultery, the ordinary people, the tax collector he was not really the most popular person in culture! Jesus reached across a broad breadth of humanity because we all have one thing in common. We're all depraved. The depravity of man is the most common thing we share with every other human being. And we all need a change of heart. And there's one saviour."

14.01.2022 The Good News of Christmas is that God gave the gift of his Son to pay for everything you have ever done wrong and offer you the grace to enter heaven.

13.01.2022 The Parable of the Prodigal Son (Luke 15) by Duane Beals Some of God's children stay home. Their performance and attitudes may not be perfect, but His grace through Christ brings forgiveness, and His providence supplies peace and comfort. Some of God's children leave home. They wander aimlessly in a fallen world. Their quest for meaning leads to darkness and despair. Yet a Heavenly Father sees them a long way off, and provides a way for them to return through repentance and faith in Christ. God's porch light is always on.

11.01.2022 Luke 24:13-33 Open Eyes Hope Restored Heb 11:1 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. It is a week after Easter. Did it bring you new hope for the future or are you still walking in despair? Have you lost hope because you cannot see? You look but you cannot see?

10.01.2022 "The propelling action coupled with the repelling counteraction keep the earth in orbit around the sun. God guides our lives in the same way. It's not enough to have only a propelling force. We need an equal repelling force, so God holds us back through the testing ordeals of life. Let's thank him for both the weights and the wings he produces. And realizing we are divinely propelled, let us press on with faith and patience in our high and heavenly calling." (Streams in the desert)

10.01.2022 Deciding to be Grateful Gratitude is the most fruitful way of deepening your consciousness that you are not an accident, but a divine choice. It is important to realize how often we have had chances to be grateful and have not used them. When someone is kind to us, when an event turns out well, when a problem is solved, a relationship restored, a wound healed, there are very concrete reasons to offer thanks: be it with words, with flowers, with a letter, a card, a phone cal...l, or just a gesture of affection. . . . Every time we decide to be grateful it will be easier to see new things to be grateful for. Gratitude begets gratitude, just as love begets love.(Henri J. M. Nouwen) The women said to Naomi, "Praise be to the Lord, who this day has not left you without a kinsman-redeemer! He will renew your life and sustain you in your old age." RUTH 4:14-

07.01.2022 Life on the Street..."a young woman had overdosed. A few people had gathered around and in a display of undiluted compassion, were begging the woman to stay awake and fight for life, until an ambulance could arrive. To make this scene even more dramatic, the woman’s boyfriend, who’d also had a shot and was beginning to panic about living in a world without his girlfriend, produced a needle and proclaimed that he was about to take a second shot so that ...they might leave this earth together. Some 'street angels' demonstrated leadership and skill by quietly walking with the man into a near-by alley and without taking any control away from the man, helped him imagine a better day than this one. I’ve never been taught how to harness the imagination of someone whose imagination has all but died. It's a powerful moment, more easily overlooked than recognised, when the man saw something in the faces of the people. He dropped his second needle, and became responsive to the loving faces around him. How easy on the surface to judge people in such a moment. Yet who of us really sees what we’re looking at? The young man was taught from 10 years old, how to conceal and sell drugs by people who rewarded him without ever loving him or even seeing him as anything more than a means to their selfish ends." 02.01.2022 Our Lives Multiply by Giving Them Away The fruitfulness of our little life, once we recognize it and live it as the life of the Beloved, is beyond anything we can imagine. One of the greatest acts of faith is to believe that the few years we live on this earth are like a little seed planted in very rich soil. For this seed to bear fruit, it must die. We often see or feel only the dying, but the harvest will be abundant even when we ourselves are the harvesters. How different ...would our life be were we truly able to trust that it multiplied in being given away! How different would our life be if we could believe that every little act of faithfulness, every gesture of love, every word of forgiveness, every little bit of joy and peace will multiply and multiply as long as there are people to receive it . . . and thateven thenthere will be leftovers!
