21.01.2022 FUEL FILTERS. Fuel filters are often over looked in a simple service. Some manufacturers even recommend replacement only when the fuel filter contamination light comes on. As you can see in these pictures fuel filters need replacing much more frequently than manufacturers schedules. This vehicle didnt even display a light yet you can see the amount of water we poured out of it. Talk to us about looking after your investment! 20.01.2022 Is your vehicle on the Takata Airbag recall list Certain types of airbags made by Takata Corporation use a chemical known as PSAN as a propellant. The ACCC’s investigation concluded that Takata PSAN airbags without a desiccant, or drying agent have a design defect. Due to the defect, as the airbag ages and is exposed to high temperatures and humidity, the PSAN propellant is exposed to moisture and degrades. If this happens, when the airbag is triggered and deploys (in ...a collision), it may deploy with too much explosive force, rupturing the airbag inflator housing so that sharp metal fragments shoot out and hit vehicle occupants, potentially injuring or killing them. 07.01.2022 Is It Safe to Drive With a Damaged Wheel Bearing? In order for your wheels to turn, they need bearings. The bearings fit into the hub and allow the wheel to turn freely. However, bearings wear over time and theyll eventually fail. Here is a vehicle that recently came in with a knocking noise in the front. Once a wheel bearing begins to fail, it will affect other components. The bearings wont allow the wheel to turn freely, which exacerbates the problem. It also puts stress and strain on the hub, the CV joint, the axle, and the transmission. This is one reason to ensure your servicing is always up to date!

04.01.2022 E10 Fuel vs Unleaded 95, 98 Will I save money using E10 fuel? Although E10 is the cheapest, the price difference between the fuels at the bowser doesn't translate into hip pocket savings because Ethanol has less energy per litre than petrol, meaning you need to use more of it to achieve the same outcome. ... The reason E10 burns quicker than premium fuels is due to the higher octane rating of premium fuel (Unleaded 98) compared to E10 (Unleaded 91/94). So, in simple terms, the higher the number the more efficient the fuel burns. We always reccomend NOT using E10, especially in older cars that have not been designed to run on E10 as the ethanol can cause damage to the Catalytic Converters in the exhaust system, damage to fuel lines and other parts of the fuel system, leading to longer term problems.
