06.01.2022 Butterfly has received comments from the community around the NETFLIX film ‘To the Bone’, due to be released in Australia on 14th July. This film follows the jo...urney of Ellen, a 20 year old woman experiencing anorexia nervosa. Whilst the film raises awareness and may start conversation, Butterfly wants to inform our community that the content in ‘To the Bone’ is visually confronting and potentially triggering, particularly for those experiencing an eating disorder, in recovery or at risk. We have put together some helpful information to answer your questions, guide appropriate conversation and encourage safe viewing. If this film raises concerns for you or someone you know, we urge you to reach out for support and call Butterfly’s National Helpline 1800 33 4673. As the film will be released during school holidays, could you please share this information with friends, family, teachers and others who may find it useful. As a community, let’s look after one another!
