14.01.2022 19 Kormilda College students went to the CDU Open day on Friday. On arrival we were directed to the auditorium where we were given an introduction for the day’s events. We listened to current CDU students on the benefits of attending CDU and a few experiences that they had. A few worthwhile tips and tricks on how to study. On completion we all went in different directions. Some gravitated around the police car with siren blaring others to the art and craft section and many t...o the informative stall. Students asked many questions with the help of Lelani Cooper who was well informed. Interesting areas for our students were Hospitality, Tourism, Tourism (Australian Indigenous Culture) and a pilot for 2018 Plumbing and Service’s Operations Stream. Our students participated in the Swag rolling contest and reptile handling. Our cohort of Year 10,11 and 12 students did Kormilda proud. See more

06.01.2022 On Friday 4 August, the Stage 1 Outdoor Education class spent the morning preparing for their Bushwalking Practical. After planning, shopping, and packing we departed for Nitmulik National Park in Katherine. Our goal was to complete the 62km Jatbula Trail. The Jatbula Trail is a trip of a lifetime located in the Northern Territory, giving walkers the opportunity of travelling through Nitmiluk National Park from the famous Nitmiluk Gorge to Leliyn (Edith Falls). The trail is a...n ancient Song Line used by the Jawoyn people. Overlooking the Seventeen Mile Valley and beyond, the trail features magnificent waterfalls tumbling from the high, sandstone escarpment, that then feed into creeks surrounded by shady monsoon forests. The rocky outcrops of the escarpment provide great opportunities for viewing stunning ancient rock art, and cooling off in great swimming holes. The students took turns leading the group each day, and class did an exceptional job in all aspects of the journey. See more
