24.01.2022 Paula Kelly attended La Guardia High School for ther Performing Arts before getting her M.S. in dance from Juilliard. She danced as soloist with companies inclu...ding Martha Graham and Alvin Ailey and on Broadway in shows like SOMETHING MORE! and SOPHISTICATED LADIES. Paula starred opposite Chita Rivera in the role of Helene in the film adaptation of "Sweet Charity," her first on-screen role of many. Still, her first love was always dance. In a 1968 New Pittsburge Courier article she explained, The only time I feel complete expression is when I’m dancing. Then I feel I have no problems, no worries, no hangups. I feel I could do anything in the world. Paula passed away of heart failure in February 2020 at the age of 77. . The Verdon Fosse Legacy strives to continue the work of Gwen Verdon and Bob Fosse's decades-long tradition of diversity, equity and inclusion. 10.01.2022 ***CASTING FOR 2021 PRODUCTION*** We are pleased to announce casting for the (take two) world premiere of a new West Australian musical by Tyler Jacob Jones & ...Robert Woods, for a season in Perth in May 2021. THE SUMMER OF OUR LIVES is a fun sci-fi six-hander with a three-piece live band. Set in the 1980’s, the story follows a family summer holiday getaway that goes horribly wrong. We are looking for two excellent singers (1 male identifying tenor and 1 female identifying mezzo-soprano/belter both aged 18-26) and 1 puppeteer (no singing required, puppetry experience required!) BACKGROUND The show was originally slated (pre-covid) to be on in April 2020 and was previously cast, but the season had to be postponed and for 2021 we now have re-opened opportunities for the casting of three roles. We will be offering audition slots in the week of Nov 30. Taught by WAB’s artistic staff, dancers and guest teachers, the Masterclass Program is the perfect complement to your ongoing studio classes. The Masterclass Program consists of 8 evening classes and 3 intensive days in 2021, accompanied by an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at how WAB and our dancers work, including watching rehearsals and interactions with WAB's dancers and Artistic staff. Entry into the program is by audition only. Students must be turning 13 years of age in 2021 as the minimum entry level. Please read the FAQ
