25.01.2022 Day 3 Tour de kids update: Another 26k’s done. 0 Bugs swallowed and I’m pretty sure Marvin the magpie (yes I’ve named my nemisis) has begun psychological warfare. He began swooping a small child as he looked me in the eyes just to show that he could. More updates coming soon
24.01.2022 Coming into the home stretch of Tour de Kids. Added another 31k’s this morning. Marvin has upped his game and recruited my housemate to pounce when I’m stopping in a ‘safe’ place for a selfie ... Marvin 4 Obi 0
23.01.2022 Using creative expression through art can be an extremely beneficial practice, promoting mindfulness and thoughtfulness is something I find beneficial and strongly resonate with. Through art, we can analyze how we are feeling and begin to separate and express these things through our own means of expression. Some thoughts to explore. ... Have you got a creative outlet? How does that benefit your mental health?
23.01.2022 Sat down to do some work in the sun and found this little fella hiding in the backyard. If you’re interested in getting involved in a bear hunt don’t wait until they are all found and check out Melbourne Legacy

19.01.2022 One of the most important things I've learnt is how your mindset affects your mental health. One of my favourite quotes from Patrick Rothfuss I think sums it up perfectly is this; 'Everyone tells a story about themselves inside their own head. Always. That story makes you what you are. We build ourselves out of that story.' ... What is the story that you are telling yourself now and is it helping you be who you want to be? If not, you have the power to change your narrative.
17.01.2022 The 2020 Napier Waller Art Prize is open for voting. The prize is open to former and current serving personnel. Have a look at this years entries and you can put a vote in for your favourite piece to be displayed at the Australian War Memorial later in the year.

14.01.2022 Today the Victorian Community Engagement Team had the opportunity to spend some time learning about Path Of The Horse from the Founder and Director Dean Mighell. Path of the Horse is a program that practices Equine Psychotherapy to support many groups in the community including veterans and their families. I’m a big believer in mindfulness practice and it was great to have some time to learn from Dean about how this is used in the program, spend some time with some amazing... animals while learning how we can better support different recovery methods. 14.01.2022 Tour de Kids update: 30k’s down today enjoying the sunshine by the river. Marvin was suspiciously not present in his usual spot but he’s entitled to a day off in such lovely weather. The score still stands at Marvin 3 and Obi 0 stay tuned for some more exciting cycle updates.
14.01.2022 2020 Seems like the never-ending rollercoaster right now with everything that is going on. If there's one thing that this year has taught me is how important it is to engage and maintain the positive supports in your life. Everyone struggles at one point or another, not everyone will understand and that's okay, one of the strongest supports we have is reaching out and staying connected. Check-in on your mates, pick up the phone and call the person you've been meaning to, an...d stay connected. If you need to talk there's always someone willing to listen. 12.01.2022 Being able to take a few moments and change your perspective is something we can all benefit from. One of the ways I stumbled across this was photography. In this case, using the drone to see something from a different view.

06.01.2022 Hello, it's me! You might be expecting another post about my amazing mighty duck's hat, while you're bound to be pleasantly surprised that I am in fact wearing my hat, this post is about the Bravery trek by Bravery Trust. Over the past month, a team from Open Arms Victoria including myself has been taking part and fundraising for veterans in need in the form of a digital kokoda march. ... To finish my trek I completed my last kilometers close to home on the Great Ocean Walk - the world's largest war memorial built by returned soldiers between 1919 and 1932 dedicated to those who lost their lives in World War 1. 05.01.2022 . Over the last few months, my routine has taken some solid hits, I went from travelling around the country working in disaster relief to being isolated without the ability to do things that I would normally do to maintain my mental health, it was definitely an adjustment. With the restrictions starting to lift and everything changing again I thought I’d share some thoughts on why I set a routine and tips to get started in building the consistency up again. Having a r...Continue reading

02.01.2022 We all chase moments of peace - Some find these in nature, art, music, or other places. It doesn’t matter where these moments are found, just that they are.
02.01.2022 26k’s down, 3 bugs swallowed and two magpie swooping incidents for Starlight Children's Foundation Australia. Cycling ain’t so bad with views like this!
