16.01.2022 When the opportunity arose in 2019 to collaborate with powerful women to inspire other woman through the incredible power of sharing our stories And for the book to be released International Womens Day 2021 I felt it was time to put my hand up and say ... Yes Im ready! After my initial excitement, fear crept in Then emotional pain I would have to go deep, deep into my past and pull out stories that had shaped who I am today This was scary, and daunting You see, my chapter is titled OUT OF HIDING And there's a good reason why First of all, those in my story are still alive today How would they feel? Would I be judged ? Then the old victim mentality was exposed And I saw it pulling me back into playing small Again ! But the me today was screamimg louder Telling me to go for it I am after all no spring chicken having reached my 5th decade and I should be ok with the battle wounds that have become My badges of honour Telling of my survival And not my death So I took a deep breath Looked deep within Raised my eyes heavenward And allowed the Divine to be my guiding light To see that not wanting to share would in fact be dying in vain But sharing to inspire Others Would make all I have lived through never be in vain If only To save Just 1 soul It would be worth a share I am ready
