02.01.2022 While the simplest of tasks have held a heavier load for all of us during this pandemic, the strength of the women I am surrounded by has been more evident than ever. Yes, men, you are amazing too. Truly. But we are in the midst of an uphill battle of a mountain you are standing on top of. I have watched my friend's launch successful businesses - literally turning negatives into positives and killing it in their field. ... I have watched friends be quarantined for months on end by choice or not, without their usual social interactions, without their usual work routines (or work at all), and still come out on top. Finding innovative ways to maintain their mental wellbeing while advocating for others and looking after their peers. I have watched my friends birth precious newborns in the midst of the pandemic, through the fear of illness and without their usual supports for one of the most important moments of their lives. I'll forever be in awe of you - you know who you are. I have watched clients (now friends) have their wedding plans upturned, their jobs lost, and a bookmark put in this chapter of their lives after years of waiting for it to arrive. And through it all, they have risen above each challenge and found a new way to not only adapt, but thrive. I'm so proud of each and every one of you (us) for proving that even when the world has stopped, we continue to smash glass ceilings and march through unchartered territories, leaving footprints for our daughters to follow in the name of equal rights.
