24.01.2022 Reminder Round 1: most importantly, even though the Govt has reduced some of the restrictions regarding masks, please be aware due to the age of many who will be officiating and within the venue; all persons who enter the venue MUST have a mask or they WILL NOT gain access to the venue! Out of respect for our vulnerable and elderly community members it would be great if you can adopt a similar attitude at training while watching or standing around. Thanks kindly

18.01.2022 Here is a list of the progress of some of our athletes aspiring to compete at the Nationals in Sydney this year! Jackson McMenamin following his National qualifier at Geelong last week of 1.95 bettered his performance to 2.00m.He is now 1 cm off the Club open record set by John Hunter which has stood since 1972. Rebecca Bain under 20 women’s 100m 12.32 is a National qualifier.... Ellie Keratianos with a 12.44 has also qualified for the open womens 100m Riley Caines with his time of 15.44 has qualified for National under 23 and open 110 m hurdles Max Busuttil has qualified for the National 100m and 200m Amanda Williamson has qualified for the National under 18 100m hurdles. Prior to the Country Championships some of our other athletes have Qualified at Various meetings Dilan Egodawatte under 16 800m 2.03.66 Wilson Cram 4.70 at rare Air Meeting which qualifies him for National under 20 and under 23 pole vault Wilson now also holds the club under 20 and open pole vault records surpassing Mark Spiveys 4.22 set in 1981 when he won the National under 20 Decathlon. Alana Green also qualified at rare Air meet with a vault of 3.70 Mischa Atkinson missed Nat qual by 1/100th of a sec in the under 14 80m hurdles so we expect she will soon join our team off to Sydney Mitchel Langborne clocked a time well under the under 18 800m time but unfortunately it was not at a recognised meet he is well on the way to recovery from injury so will probably register a time soon. Frank Mazza has shown at AVSL so far that he is achieving standards and should perform well over the coming weeks Who we will be adding to this list in the near futureless keep aiming high!!!
