20.01.2022 UPDATE: 20/10 - the shirts have found a good home Dear Tigers, Tony Griffiths and David Minehan are offering to pass on a full set of shirts to any Kotara team who would like them:... Hi All, As the winter season slowly comes to a close there are a number of 5-aside, 6-aside and futsal comps starting up soon for summer. A few years ago, David Minehan and myself set up a team that played 5-aside FIVE5’s at Speers Point. We had some good Brocini light weight and quick drying shirts made up for the team under the name Kotara Thunder. This kit is far too small for the boys now but far too good to throw out. If you are aware of any teams boys/girls needing a full kit for small-sided, 5-aside or futsal we’d rather give them to someone locally to save money. These shirts are extremely good quality. There is enough shirt sizes to last a number of years as they grow. Would suit a team between 8-12 years old and sizes vary from size 10 to SM (small mens). There are 20 shirts total. All shirts are individually numbered Includes: 6 x size 10 6 x size 12 4 x size 14 2 x size (SM) 2 x GK shirts - red and black size 10/12 5 x small green bibs Pair of GK gloves 20 shirts total about $800+ worth. Available FREE to a good Kotara South team that wants them. Anyway, if we can help save someone a few dollars and save them going into land fill, let me know. Cheers Tony 0410 493903

02.01.2022 Kotara South FC has aligned with the Bright Minds project Communities Activities Lake Macquarie (www.CALM.org.au) to work towards becoming a recognised ‘Mental Health Aware’ club. The program is aimed at helping clubs like ours to best support the mental health of our sporting community. This is a new initiative, supported by Newcastle and Northern NSW Football. This weekend we will participate in the Mental Health Aware Round. What is the Mental Health Round you ask? Well, I...’m glad you did! It’s scheduled for Round 14 (9th October- 11th October) with World Mental Health Day on the 10th October. CALM will be at Harry Edwards Oval on Saturday afternoon with information about having and maintaining good mental health and also mental health support when you or somebody you know is not doing so great. Get over and say hello if you’re there, they run some excellent programs and really have some great resources. CALM have some FREE online workshops coming up soon to help you develop language for supporting somebody who may be very distressed. Keep an eye out here and on our club TeamApp for more information over the off season for these and other CALM workshops or head to https://newcastlefootball.com.au/mental-health-aware-round for the links. Have a great final round!
