22.01.2022 PREVENTION is key Have you ever woken up in pain, all of a sudden of unknown cause? . . . We now know that such an experience may not be all of a sudden after all. 13.01.2022 This man turns dreams into reality! If you have ever caught yourself admiring the wood craftsmanship at Kula Health, then you have been admiring the work of @empty_lamps Murray and Dr Laura randomly met at a market one day where Murray was selling his gorgeous wooden lamps. One year later, when Kula was born, Dr L found a Pinterest picture of shelves similar to what you see now. FYI - The hexagonal shapes represent beehives, which symbolises community and the power of comin...g together as a tribe. Luckily Dr L had kept the flier for Murrays business (and managed to remember which book she slipped it into), and 12 months down the track rings Murray and said Hi youre amazing, I have this idea...do you I think you can help? So, Murray got busy and worked his woodworking wizardry magic and sent back a photo of the shelves that you see now laid out on the floor of his back shed. It was perfection! Realizing his incredible talent Dr Laura then asked Murray to work some more woodwork magic to create a bench seat (which you sit on when you wait for your appointments) and the wooden sign above the door as you enter. 09.01.2022 As the cooler weather sets in, here is some wisdom from our Acupuncturist Brendan. In Chinese Medicine Cold damages Yang, congeals the blood, contracts the tissues, stiffens the joints, interferes with the Lungs protective functions (immunity) and in general slows everything down.. So what can YOU do to prevent this!?... Where possible avoid exposure to cold, windy weather. Keep your socks on. Many major Yin points are found in the feet (where your Kidney, Spleen & Liver meridians originate). Tuck your shirt it (or wear a singlet tucked into your undies) to keep the Kidney points around your low back & your belly nice & warm. Protect your neck with a scarf or long collar. Riding on the wind, cold likes to sneak into the body through the back of the neck. Keep your head and ears covered. Many Yang meridians finishing up there, where its easy to loose heat / energy. Keep it safe inside with a beanie or a hoodie. Avoid cold food and drinks. (No ice in your drink!).
