Kumon Centres are still open. However, if schools close to slow the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19, Kumon is ready to go to home-based study until schools reopen. This is to comply with health authority advice and government regulations. Worksheets can be provided from your centre for the duration of the school closures, so your childs learning is not interrupted. Kumon is traditionally a home-based, pencil and paper programme. It is designed for students to study at home every day on their own. It is ideal for extended periods at home. For a short time, every day, no calculator, no keyboard, no screen, no high-speed internet connection necessary. Students take out their worksheets, pick up a pencil, read, think, write, and use an eraser to correct their errors. Kumon Instructors can effectively manage communication with families through a variety of electronic means. Continued daily worksheet study at home will ensure that disruption to your childs progress and learning is minimised. Research indicates that young children are more likely to engage with information that is neither too easy or too hard for them to understand.
