16.01.2022 Barron Falls Lookout, which is possibly the most famous waterfall lookout in North Queensland, is visited by hundreds of people each year. The lookout offers an incredible frontal aspect of the falls, which are at their most spectacular during the wet season (November to March) when the Barron River is in full flood. Here's what he had to say: "I've been fascinated with this train adventure since I was a kid. And I've done it a number of times over the years. So it was a thrill to finally take my own two 'train mad' boys on this rail journey from Cairns to Kuranda. They loved the carriages, the colourful diesel locomotives, the fifteen tunnels and spectacular views as the train slowly climbed up the range to Kuranda. The Village in the Rainforest has two market locations, the Original Rainforest Markets and the Heritage Markets offering a wide range of artefacts, handmade goods, wood and jewellery. It's been quiet lately, but the markets are open and are pleased to have you visit! Original Rainforest Markets are currently open from Thursday to Monday (closed Tuesday and Wednesday) and the Heritage Markets from Thursday to Sunday (closed Mo...nday to Wednesday). The carriage is beautifully decorated and maintained and provided a real sense of heritage!
