23.01.2022 While you cannot be outdoors, go within! Try this short meditation called the Heart Lock-in technique by HeartMath Institute. Close your eyes and place your hands over your heart. Take a few breaths and breathe through your nose, while imagining the breath flowing gently in and out of your heart. Next bring in an elevated emotion by thinking about a pet or child you love, or feeling gratitude for something, this opens the heart to receive the peace and calm within.... Stay there for 20 minutes. This meditation is ideal to practice, especially when your indoors, and you now have the time to sit quietly without rushing out someplace. See more

02.01.2022 Last week I attended a CSIRO Conference on The Role of the Gut in Health and Wellness and learned about the 'galaxy in our guts'. This got me wondering about mi...crobes and how they can be harmed by chlorinated water or harnessed by feeding them fibre and fermented foods. This then led me to come up with the Ten Marvels of Microbes. The Ten Marvels of Microbes 1 Microbes are mind-boggling Microbes inhabiting your body are more numerous than stars in the known universe. Bacteria out-number human cells, viruses out-number bacteria, and microbial genes out-number human genes. There are more than 5000 species of bacteria, archea, fungi, protozoa and viruses and a new species is discovered with every 6 people tested. 2 Microbes are everywhere Microbes including viruses, bacteria, archea, fungi and protozoa live everywhere from boiling hot springs to frozen snowfields.
