25.01.2022 Day 5 of the Hancock Prospecting WA State Age and Open Swimming Championships at HBF Stadium saw Kwinana Swimming Club collect one more medal and take it right up to the larger represented clubs in two relays. The women's open 50m backstroke saw yesterday's state title winner Amelia Nielsen continue her outstanding form and win her heat with a time that was good enough to collect the bronze medal (31.40). Sienna Cummins was fifth in the same event and both also added new pers...onal bests. The final events for the meet saw the team relays and KSC featuring in two with our women. These were swam as timed heats/finals so there was only one chance to shine. Our women's 13-16yrs 4x100m medley relay team featuring Sienna Cummins (BK), Olivia Kadamani (BR), Amelia Nielsen (BF) and Hannah South (FS) had a great swim placing third in their heat and eighth overall. Our final event for KSC was the women's 13-16yrs 4x100m freestyle relay featuring Amelia Nielsen, Keeley South, Hannah South and Sienna Cummins where the team again placed eighth. And so wraps the state age championships for another year. A difficult year that has thrown up many challenges for our swimmers to just make it to training and keeping together as a team. But our swimmers met these challenges with grace and determination and everyone should be proud of their many achievements whether it is a state title, a medal or a personal best or two. Putting it in perspective - KSC finished 14th in the total team points score (and remember there were 42 clubs participating at this meet), while our women placed inside the top 10 with an incredible seventh placing overall. From a medal count KSC achieved three gold, seven silver and three bronze for a total of 13 medals and of course three newly crowned State Age Champions in Sienna Cummins, Alannah Cameron and Amelia Nielsen. Finally, well done to KSC coaches Shannon Doody and Natalie Ballard and of course all the support crew who are invariably plugging away behind the scenes to keep things ticking along. Well done everyone. We are extremely proud. May you enjoy a restful Christmas and New Year.

17.01.2022 Ahead of next month's Australian Age Championships on the Gold Coast, KSC's National Qualifiers were invited to a special twilight meet at Scarborough yesterday evening. It was a competitive meet with a difference with our swimmers allocated into four teams of 22 swimmers each to compete against each other. The evening culminated in a draw and nail-biting swim off relay with Amelia Nielsen helping her team take out the win for the day. Another highlight saw our swimmers compe...te in several events against Olympian Blair Evans and Commonwealth Games medalist Holly Barratt. #ksckids #kwinanaswimmingclub #comeswimwithus

17.01.2022 The third and final day at the State Junior Long Course Championships at HBF stadium yesterday saw KSC bring home three state junior titles, a swag of medals, almost too many personal bests to count and a fabulous all round effort from our entire team of juniors. Eleven-year-olds Lucia Anderson, Talanah Kadamani and Kaiya Williams enjoyed a sensational golden moment each as they claimed a win and state junior title in the girls 800m freestyle, girls 200m butterfly and boys 80...0m freestyle events respectively. Other highlights saw nine year old Alyssa Cappelluti power home to finish a strong seventh in the girls 50m breaststroke and fellow nine year old Patrick Anderson swim strongly to finish sixth in the 200m free and ninth in the 100m free. The 100m breaststroke saw Talanah claim another medal in finishing second, while Taine Williams and Chace Jolley both finished a strong sixth in their respective races. Eleven year old Ocean-Reef Te Kowhai backed up his strong 50m free swim on Friday with a competitive effort in the 50m fly finishing seventh in a hot field. Many thanks to KSC head coach Shannon Doody and assistant Nat Ballard for all their efforts in preparing the team over the past few months and to all the parents and supporters who attended the three days and cheered everyone on. Finally a huge congratulations to all our team who swam their hardest and represented KSC with pride. We are extremely proud of you all. #ksckids #kwinanaswimmingclub #swimmingWA #comeswimwithus

15.01.2022 Due to circumstances in QLD and with WA hard borders last week, Sienna, Alannah and Amelia were unable to travel to the Gold Coast for the 2021 Australian Age Championships and 2021 Australian Championships. Our girls have worked tirelessly under the direction of Coach Shannon to achieve NQ times throughout a particularly challenging 2020/2021 season with interruptions and changes to regular training programs due to COVID-19. Swimming WA have provided all WA swimmers who ach...ieved National Qualifying Times the opportunity to compete this weekend at HBF Stadium. All times achieved this weekend will be sent to Swimming Australia for inclusion. Day 3 finished with a bang with even more medals for the following swimmers: Alannah Cameron 100 Fly 200 IM 200 Freestyle Sienna Cummins 800 Freestyle 200 IM 200 Freestyle Amelia Nielsen 200 IM Josh Spencer 200 IM 200 Breaststroke Congratulations also to our relay team for powering their way to the finish - Hannah, Olivia, Alannah and Charlee. 14.01.2022 Only two more sleeps until this fabulous KSC team of nine compete at the Western Australian Short Course Championships. We want to wish them all and Shannon a fantastic weekend of swimming.

14.01.2022 Day 4 of the Hancock Prospecting WA State Age and Open Swimming Championships at HBF Stadium saw the biggest day yet for Kwinana Swimming Club as our swimmers bagged four medals including an elusive gold and the title of State Age Champion that goes with it. 16 year old Amelia Nielsen will have her named permanently etched on the club's 'Outstanding Achievement' honour board as she produced a new personal best time to claim the State Age Championship in the women 16 year 200m... individual medley. Sitting second early, Amelia hit the lead at the start of breaststroke leg and turned for home with a healthy lead but was strongly challenged all the way to the wall by Breakers Abigail Philips. Amelia dug deep and held on by just 0.13 to claim the state title. Joining Amelia among the medals was Team KSC's youngest member, 13 year old Charlee Eaves, who claimed a podium finish and the bronze medal in the gruelling 1500m freestyle with a highly impressive swim. Ever-consistent Alannah Cameron added to her already impressive medal haul with another two tonight - both silver as she produced her signature barnstorming final 50m in both the 200m individual medley and 200m butterfly for 15 year olds, the latter event in a new personal best time of 2:25.55. Other finals tonight featuring KSC swimmers saw Sienna Cummins just nudged out of the placings in the 50m freestyle with a fifth place in a still sensational time of 28.15. Sienna also finished fifth in the 200m IM. Earlier in the session Amelia Nielsen and Hannah South swam nearly side by side in the 16 year 50m freestyle and in a highly competitive field managed fifth and eighth places respectively. Lenny Russell was up against some tough competition in his 14 year old 200m IM event and in a tussle for the minor placings and had to settle for seventh - but highlighting the competitiveness there was less than a tenth of a second between fifth and seventh place. A massive congratulations to all our KSC swimmers who have represented the club with enthusiasm and professionalism. You are all a credit to our club and your families. The final day of competition tomorrow sees Sienna and Amelia looking to qualify for the final of the 50m backstroke before the meet wraps up with team relay events.

You have done an outstanding job, always stepping up at Club Race Days, setting an excellent example to our junior swimmers and always a positive and confident KSC representative. Thank you Ben

11.01.2022 Spare a thought today for two of KSC's national qualifiers - Sienna Cummins and Charlee Eaves who under normal circumstances would be jetting their way home today from the Gold Coast following the Australian Open Water Swimming Championships on the weekend. Circumstances this year prevented the girls from attending with both Sienna and Charlee's families deciding it was too risky to attend. The COVID-19 pandemic risk still looms large and at the time of making a decision the ...14 day quarantine period was still a factor and they decided they could not risk being stuck in another state if the borders suddenly slammed shut. Both girls parents gave it a lot of thought (especially Charlee’s with it being her first Nationals) but both ultimately decided it was too risky. So here's looking to 2022 when another chance to represent our club at a National level will hopefully come around again! #ksckids #kwinanaswimmingclub

07.01.2022 Team KSC kicked off with a bang yesterday at Day 1 of the State Junior Long Course Championships at HBF stadium with four medals in the bag. The highlights of the opening day included a gold medal and state title in the 11 year old girls 400 Individual Medley for Talanah Kadamani who powered home to claim first place. Other team KSC swimmers performed strongly with Ocean-Reef Te Kowhai claiming seventh in the 11 year old boys 50m freestyle in a blistering 31.67. Twelve year old Chace Jolley shaved a massive 16 seconds off her PB in the 400m free to place 11th, while Taine Williams backed up his silver medal yesterday with a fourth in the boys 200m breaststroke, just missing a podium finish by 7/100th of a second. 06.01.2022 What a week its been at KSC! It will go down in the clubs history books as the return of all our squads to the pool following the enforced COVID 19 closures. But for many of our swimmers, it was also a step towards normality, and the chance to start working towards new goals. (And see their friends) and a goodbye to zoom! 2020 certainly hasnt turned out as expected, and theres been many disappointments for our swimmers....pool closures, cancellations of state and national... events and missed opportunities. But this week marked a new beginning. The time away from the pool has given many of our swimmers time to reflect and re evaluate their goals. This week our swimmers returned more focused and driven then ever before. 2020 may not of had a great start, but its certainly got the potential for having a fantastic finish.

06.01.2022 Merry Christmas to all

At Peter Carnley Anglican Community School's junior school event Avah and Cayden McNally placed strongly in their events finishing first or second in every race they entered. PCACS has not yet announced their champion and runner up medalists, so as soon as they do we'll bring an update as we're pretty sure KSC kids placed strongly. At Star of The Sea in Rockingham Ocean-Reef Te Kowhai and Kaiye Williams rounded out their primary school days by claiming Year 6 Champion and Runner Up. Well done lads. And finally at Tranby College a couple of weeks ago the Cameron sisters continued their recent dominance with both Alannah and Tammy taking home champion medals for Year 10 and Year 8. There has also been several highly-competitive interschool carnivals in the last week or so and we'll bring an update on KSC member results as soon as they come to hand. A huge congratulations to all our swimmers who gave it their best at the carnivals and reaped the benefit of all those training hours. We are proud of you all. #ksckids #kwinanaswimmingclub

04.01.2022 Contract tracing at HBF Stadium for the SunSmart SWA LC Qualifying Meet #2 The WA Government announced this week that from Saturday, 5th December 2020 venues and some businesses will need to keep detailed records of all patrons coming into their premises. As this is a fast moving / aggressive / infectious disease the only real defence is to act quickly and decisively in the event of an outbreak. This record keeping is to allow the contract tracers to quickly get in contac...t with groups of people that might need to be followed up. To make it easier and consistent across venues a Safe WA mobile app has been put together which can be setup on your smartphone recording your visit to venues automatically when you scan a QR Code specific to the venue. You will notice that QR Codes are being published around entrances to venues so that you can simply scan the code with your smartphone to register your visit to the venue. VenuesWest has recommended to download the SafeWA app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store and have it ready before you enter the venue on the weekend as HBF Stadium have confirmed they will be utilising it in order to record visitors from the 5th of December 2020. (In order to get people used to the process they will have it available to use from the 2nd of December.) Please take the time to install the application and have it setup ready before arriving at the venue. Additional time at the entrance may be required to scan the code to register your attendance. The confirmation can then be displayed at the cashier on entrance. Venues West will require any person entering the Stadium - 16 years and over - to register their contact details when entering the venue. More information is available at https://www.hbfstadium.com.au//contact-tracing-to-commenc/ and some FAQs are available at https://www.wa.gov.au//covid-19-coronavirus-contact-regist We have been very lucky so far during these extraordinary times and in setting up these simple guidelines means that we can continue to adapt to the new normal not just at HBF Stadium, but at any venue you may visit.
