25.01.2022 Some great free play groups for our local families to attend. I took my eldest who is almost 9 when she was a toddler and last week took our youngest to her first play group. Durning my time doing day care I have taken along children in my care and can say every child has had a great time whilst we are there. The ladies that run them are lovely and great with the kiddies it's also a great time for other mums, dads and grandparents to sit back or join in and enjoy chatting wi...th other adults. Hoping to attend more with children in my care once I start back up. If you are looking for something for you and you're young child to do I highly recommend going along to one of these play groups.

22.01.2022 Thank you to everyone who has been collecting for us

10.01.2022 My maternity leave is almost over, time to start organising some fun learning spaces for my little ones and my daycare children to explore and further develop their skills. Watch this space. Our youngest Piper with her big Brother Preston.

10.01.2022 We have collected a nice number of stickers and with only 2 and 1/2 week's left we are excited to see how many more we can get. Thank you to those collecting for us, if you have some and not sure what to do with them we would be happy to take them for you

09.01.2022 To me, this is a very powerful demonstration of how our motor system, especially at a tender age, responds to underfoot cushioning. It reveals the negative comp...eting effects of wearing thicker cushioned footwear during early and critical stages of human movement development: the child's trying to land stably, but finds difficulty in doing so as the thick, underfoot padding acts as a sensory barrier and mechanical interference that causes mobility impairments, a slowed reflexive-caution response that the body naturally employs when barefoot and may also slow and impair advances in functional mobility health as well. *Video credit- chriobro on Instagram.

05.01.2022 FDCA was disappointed by the stories run across various news outlets over the weekend. This coverage regarding a small group of unscrupulous 'operators' continu...es to unfairly taint the reputation of our sector, which is made up of fantastic educators and services that go above and beyond to support families and provide high quality outcomes for children all across Australia. It is disappointing that the media, regulatory authorities and the governments, to the detriment of the sector, continue to use the family day care sector as a vehicle to spruik budgetary savings from as far back as far as 2015. This is a matter that we have raised with regulators and we have made it clear that the time for this rhetoric over. FDCA CEO, Andrew Paterson spoke with the publication and raised this along with other concerns during the conversation. Andrew also made it clear that there is still a very strong demand for family day care and that family day care continues to play a crucial role in the ECEC sector due to the unique qualities it can provide Australian families. Mr Paterson stated that while FDCA supports the removal of unscrupulous operators from the sector, services need to be supported by regulators and governments in order to be able to recruit educators and grow the sector. As the sector's national peak we have recently met with regulators and governments across the country as part of our Sector Viability Strategy (https://tinyurl.com/fdc-viability-strategy) to discuss matters such as this in order to ensure a strong and sustainable future for the sector. We are aware that the source for this story was the NSW Government and we will be addressing these matters directly with them. We will continue work hard to share positive stories across Australia about family day care and also encourage all of our members to share their stories with us, so that we can distribute them to media outlets. Family day care services and educators provide high quality early childhood education and care in a natural home environment that allows children to form strong bonds with passionate educators in small group settings. The ability for family day care to offer this type of environment is what makes family day care the natural choice in early childhood education and care for thousands of Australian families.
