24.01.2022 After months of driving past watching it grow yesterday we were given the grand tour by Andrew Host and Merv McKillop of the upgrades to the Margaret River Senior High School. I was blown away by the facilities available to our kids and how lucky our region is to have such great options for education. Everything from a new gym to a fully operational vineyard & farm, robotics classrooms and 3D printing. I was in awe of just how much the classroom has changed, but also the forward thinking and education into technologies that will play an important part in our futures. Congratulations to Andrew, Merv and all involved, MRSHS is something that our community can be very proud of and our children very privileged to attend.

21.01.2022 These guys are the quiet achievers doing some amazing work. Please help out if you are in a position to help make a better Christmas for some local families.

19.01.2022 Excitement is starting to build and the first street party is set.......looking forward to so many possibilities for events in our Main Street into the future

17.01.2022 With our region still struggling to find workers this week council agreed to some temporary changes to allow workers to occupy short-term accommodation dwellings for longer periods and for caravan parks to accommodate seasonal workers on a case-by-case basis. We are hoping to share the message and get people thinking about the possibility of helping out with accommodation for seasonal workers over the next few months. With so many business operating below capacity due to labor shortages it is a real problem across the state and we are attempting to do all we can to get people thinking, even along the lines of perhaps letting out a spare room they may have for the next few months ahead.

17.01.2022 Been a long haul through COVID -19 and Main Street renovations, the bird in flight seems quite symbolic to me as we move forward to recovery and more positive times.

16.01.2022 Getting exciting now....

13.01.2022 That time of the year again, keep an eye out for these little ones around town. This Mum has quite a few that stopped traffic the other day while a lady made sure they got safely across the road

12.01.2022 The thank a volunteer night each year is the favourite event for many of us. To the over 3,000 volunteers, the nominees, the winners and shire staff that volunteered on the night and organisers CONGRATULATIONS and well done. So proud of the community we live in and those that put up their hands to make things happen.

12.01.2022 Was awesome to see a huge crowd at the Margaret River HEART last night for the movie Rams. I took my family and for us there were so many connections, from sheep farming and ag shows to a brush with Johne’s Disease as well as being filmed in Mt Barker. Highly recommend if you have a chance to see.

11.01.2022 While we wait with anticipation for what 2021 will bring, I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and the very best wishes for the new year. We made it through 2020 with so many hurdles and came out strong, our community banded together and learnt many lessons. At the end of the day let’s hope we take all the good things that came from this past year into the future and leave the rest to history!Merry Christmas

08.01.2022 So that people can get a bit of an insight into who we are outside of council each Councillor has a small video coming up over the next few weeks on the Shire of Augusta Margaret River FB page...seems like I am the only one that doesn't have a green thumb!

04.01.2022 If there was ever a time to visit the cinema now is it! Really enjoyed this one at Margaret River HEART last night. With three seat spacing due to COVD-19 restrictions, it was so nice not to be scrunched up next to someone other than Greg :-) Already picked the next three movies we want to see!

02.01.2022 Just had an amazing two nights in Augusta. Congratulations to the Augusta Community Resource Centre and the Augusta Hotel for a awesome night under the full moon with local band Doxy supporting Jessie Gordon, accompanied by first class food with service to match. Well done to everyone involved we had a fantastic night.

02.01.2022 Had to share this one - its 8degrees out there and the Wallcliffe Volunteer Fire Brigade were fighting a fire and managed to bog not one but three vehicles. What an awesome bunch of Volunteers probably not what they had planned for today but put a smile on my face and I am guessing they probably had a bit of fun along the way, and those beers will taste extra good tonight :-)
