25.01.2022 This afternoon North Casino responded to the grass at Hillyards Rd with Kyogle Headquarters Rural Fire Brigade. The fire is contained and Kyogle are finishing off the mopping up

25.01.2022 Last night Kyogle HQ and Green Pigeon members gathered for our monthly meeting. Superintendent Michael Brett visited to award many of our members with the 2019/2020 NSW Premiers Bushfire Citation for their efforts during our last fire season. Congratulations to all recipients and thanks to Michael Brett for taking the time to visit all brigades in person.

15.01.2022 The Bush Fire Danger Period (BFDP) has now commenced in the Northern Rivers. A Fire Permit is required for burning activities during the BFDP. Fire Permits help ensure fire is used safely and minimise the danger to you, your property and the community. The key things to remember... You need a fire permit during the Bush Fire Danger Period. Just because it's the Bush Fire Danger Period doesn't mean you can't use fire - but there are restrictions to ensure fire is used safely. Getting a permit is free and easy. Contact your local Fire Control Centre or brigade permit officer. You must notify neighbours and NSW RFS at least 24 hours before lighting up. Call the Northern Rivers Fire Control Centre on 02 6663 0000 and now online 24/7 at www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/notify. There are heavy penalties if you don't follow restrictions or rules.
