25.01.2022 AMAZING footage has emerged of the dramatic arrest of a man who evaded police through busy streets on the Gold Coast last night. FULL STORY: https://goo.gl/HDL7bv

25.01.2022 A bit of a loose night for this chap. Driving on wrong side of the road passed Labrador McDonald’s.

24.01.2022 Merry Christmas Labrador.

24.01.2022 Any coffee drinkers in the house? Where do you guys think the best coffee up our end of the coast is?

22.01.2022 Just a short trip down the highway and you find the nicest beaches and sights, such as Hastings Point. Nothing beats going for a drive and discovering a new spot each time #goldcoast #hastingspoint

22.01.2022 This would’ve been the commotion. All in hand.

21.01.2022 What’s the best place for brekkie up this end of the coast?

20.01.2022 Just another day in our hood

19.01.2022 Council has proposed changes to their City Plan with much higher building limits for our area None of Labrador will be zoned ‘low density’ under the changes. None! Have a look through this post, get on your computer or iPad (it doesn’t work on mobile) and give council your feedback by 25 October:... https://www.gchaveyoursay.com.au/ourcityourplan The proposal’s smallest zoning for any section in Labrador will be low-medium, the second lowest of the 7 new zones, instead of the existing low density most of the suburb has. Here’s a summary of the changes for different sections: - Between Government Road and Turpin Road will go up to 16m. - Between Turpin Road and Muir Street, most areas will go up to 26m. - Between Muir Street and Frank Street the height limit jumps from 29m to 53m. - From Frank Street to the water the height increases from 53m to 67m except at the old KFC/Sunland site where it will be 110m. Chirn Park will also have big changes with most of that area going up to 26m from Jimmieson Avenue and Fourth Avenue/Walter Street down to Fisher Avenue. This proposal really concerns me. It destroys the suburban part of Labrador, proudly one of the oldest parts of the Gold Coast with some beautiful houses and a great community vibe by the Broadwater. If you’re not happy about it either, you need to give your feedback to council. It has to be in by 25 October. I support development, we all live in the product of it, but it has to be the right development in the right area. It can’t be at the expense of character and community. If Labrador needs density it should be focussed towards the water and along key transport corridors like it is on other parts of the Gold Coast. It shouldn’t creep into our suburban area. I agree with changing the current 3 building height categories to 7 categories. It gives a lot more scope for diversity around our city but it needs to be applied properly. If you look at other parts of the city in this proposal - Chevron Island right in Surfers is being downgraded to low and medium density and most of the ocean-side of the Light Rail 3A corridor stays low and low to medium density. Areas like Sovereign Island, the back of Main Beach, Isle of Capri and Paradise Waters are being preserved as low density. If it’s good enough for them, it’s good enough for Labrador. Like I’ve said a few times PLEASE GET YOUR FEEDBACK IN - https://www.gchaveyoursay.com.au/ourcityourplan This is still just a proposal, we need to make council listen.

19.01.2022 Have you seen people hanging around that you’re not sure on? Are there people behaving oddly or suspiciously? If you see these kinds of activities, you can post the info on here or report to police link 131444. Keep each other safe out there, Labrador

17.01.2022 When the Frank Street KFC closed forever, was it the saddest day in Labrador’s history? The news no doubt sent shockwaves through our community.

17.01.2022 Labrador living up to its name eh

17.01.2022 What’s your favourite part of our little suburb?

14.01.2022 What is the craziest thing you’ve seen in Labrador?

13.01.2022 Did you know that the majority of break and enters (burglaries) are achieved by the occupants leaving a door unlocked? Ensuring your personal safety by being proactive is the best way to keep your property safe. Labrador and Southport continue to be the property crime hot spots on the coast. Sensor lights, cctv and locked entry points can give you the best chance at staying safe.

13.01.2022 Happy Australia Day, Labrador. This fella thinks the heat is a bit ruff.

05.01.2022 A recent spate of vehicle thefts has been occurring in Labrador. Several offenders are wandering the streets and testing parked cars for unlocked doors. As soon as an unlocked car is found, bank cards, money and personal possessions are being stolen. Be vigilant - never leave anything unlocked, but more importantly, don’t leave anything in sight inside your vehicle. ... You can also request your local council add more cameras to the city safe network system, which is a strong deterrent in these types of offences. Stay safe out there, Labrador.

05.01.2022 Polair is back again. Labrador always has someone on the run lol
