23.01.2022 Hi everyone, Hope you all had a lovely Christmas break. Our first hit/tournament is on next Thursday the 14th. Will have another one on the 21st and not sure yet whether we start fixtures on the 28th, most likely will start on the 7th March. 22.01.2022 Its finals time again, the year has flown by quickly. We had our semi finals last week. With Roses team led by Leanne beating Sapphires led by Gaye. Theses teams came in 3rd and 4th. Then we had our first past the post team Sweetpeas led by Kaye playing Nyletas team Bluebells. Bluebells were the winners and are straight through to the final. We also had The best of the rest - Gardenias were the victors led by Chris playing Emeralds led by Allison. Special thank you to C...oral for filling in for Del. 22.01.2022 A N N O U N C E M E N T Its official! Dates for the 2020 tennis comp have now been finalised, so lock these in to your calendars ladies Thursday 20th Feb: Grading day 1... Thursday 27thFeb: Grading day 2 Thursday 5th Mar: Fixtures start WHAT YOU NEED TO DO: 1. RSVP your attendance at the grading days on the calendar events, coming soon, or contact a member of the committee directly. 2. You MUST attend AT LEAST ONE grading session to be eligible to play in the 2020 comp!! This applies to both players & reservists. 3. If you cannot make either grading session, please notify a member of the committee IMMEDIATELY! 4. Dust off those rackets and get your outfits ready for another competitive (but fun) tennis season!!!

20.01.2022 Good luck to the ladies playing in the semi finals tomorrow. Ladies not playing in finals and floaters are most welcome to come out for a hit or just cheer the girls on. Weather permitting of course, will notify you ASAP if cancelled. Our luncheon is on the 15th November at Ipswich Knights. $25 for players, floaters and past players. $30.00 for non players. 20.01.2022 When you realise it’s less than 3wks until competition tennis starts and you haven’t picked up a racquet the whole off-season. Anyone else feeling a bit like this or have you been good and had a few hit ups during the break??!

17.01.2022 Sorry for late update. We had our grand final last Thursday 14.11.19. It was a fabulous and close final depending on last set for the result. Sweetpeas were the victors by 6 games. Team consisted of Kaye Tonner, Karen McKew, Myrtle Hunt and Marilyn Brown The runners up were Bluebells Nyleta Bruce, Margaret Freiberg, Ruth Sellars and Dos Claus.... Well done ladies. Thanks to all the other ladies who came out to cheer on the girls. We also had a lovely afternoon tea after the final was completed. Remember our luncheon next Thursday 28th at Ipswich Knights. 10.30 for 11am start. See you then. See more

This will be held on the 15th & 22nd of February. Please call if you are interested in joining. We start play at 9.00 am to approximately 1.30 pm. Everyone plays 3 sets.

09.01.2022 Check out our new banner if your passing the tennis courts. Thanks Karen for organising it, fabulous job. Also, thanks to Karen, Mark and Isaac for putting banner up. Our first hit up will be on the 13th February starting at 9 am. Spread the word to people you know and hopefully we might get some new players to come and try out for the season. Hoping to have 2 weeks of hit ups before we start season. At this stage hoping to start the competition on the 27th February. Thanks SHARON

09.01.2022 Recently we had our annual morning tea to raise funds for cancer. The committee and other members provided some lovely treats to share. We invited our valued past members to attend as well and it was lovely to see them all. We managed to raise $350 which we will donate to Ipswich Hospice. Thanks everyone. Darryn Verral who looks after our courts (and does a great job) and Leo Conway (long time supporter) also enjoyed the sweets.

08.01.2022 Tennis washed out today. Having a President vs Vice President tournament on 1.3.18. Fixtures now will start on 8th March. Teams have been sorted but are still looking for new players to be floaters. Most welcome to join us next week to try out.

05.01.2022 Emeralds were our wooden spoon winners. Captain Allison Howard (absent), Pat Anderson, Glenda Small and Myrtle Hunt. Presenting their prizes is our lovely Patron Irene Rees.

04.01.2022 Had our preliminary finals last Thursday. Weather not too bad. Thank god it wasnt on Friday, think we would have used the heat rule. The centre did a great job getting us a couple of courts prepared because the strong winds on the Tuesday wrecked the courts. Sweetpeas were the victors by 6 games, very close final which is good to see. This Thursday we have our Grandfinal between Bluebells and Sweetpeas. Good luck to both teams. There wont be any tennis played by the remainder of us. So we will sit and watch the ladies and cheer them on. We will have some nibbles at the end. You can bring along some drinks too if you wish too.
