25.01.2022 CONTINUATION OF TOTAL FIRE BAN & VERY HIGH FIRE DANGER RATING FOR THURSDAY 15 FEBRUARY 2018 Due to unfavourable weather conditions predicted for tomorrow the total fire ban for the Southern Ranges region (which includes Upper Lachlan, Goulburn Mulwaree & Yass Valley Shire Councils) has been extended for a further 24 hours until midnight tomorrow night. Although the fire danger rating has been reduced slightly to Very High for tomorrow, we still need to be very careful out there due to the current hot and dry spell we are experiencing.

24.01.2022 SEVERE FIRE WEATHER WARNING & TOTAL FIRE BAN FOR TUESDAY 12 FEBRUARY 2019 Tomorrows Fire Danger Rating (FDR) for our area is SEVERE as we are expecting a hot day with low humidity and very strong winds. As a result a Total Fire Ban has been declared from midnight tonight for the Southern Ranges Fire Area which includes the Laggan Brigade area. The Total Fire Ban comes in force from midnight tonight until midnight tomorrow night unless otherwise notified. Please be careful out there. Report all fires without a fire truck in attendance to Triple Zero (000) immediately.

23.01.2022 A big thank you to Ophelia from My Sisters Keeper for supplying our new P3 face masks and a special thank you to the Laverty sisters for thinking of our little Brigade in the first place and going to the trouble of fundraising and/or organising this. It is greatly appreciated and humbling to receive such a donation. We can assure you that they will be put to good use over the ensuing fire seasons. Once again thank you for your generosity.

22.01.2022 PLEASE NOTE: The Bush Fire Danger Period for Southern Tablelands region (of which Laggan is part of) has been extended to 30 April 2019 due to ongoing drought conditions. If you require further information or a permit to burn during this period, please either contact our Brigade Captain or the Zone Office on 02 6226 3100

22.01.2022 Tarlo River Fire Some pics from yesterdays Towrang Fire where many of the local Crookwell & surrounding crews attended and did a mighty job to stop the fire and... save homes that were in its line of destruction .... The local guys and ladies were great as always, keeping their wonderful sense of humors and laughs even when under extreme heat and pressure. Great job and all went home after 12 hours of solid fire fighting, tired but safe See more

18.01.2022 SMOKE ADVISORY FOR LAGGAN AREA You may have noticed an influx of smoke in the Laggan, Golspie, Fullerton and Taralga areas. This is resulting from a forecast wind change which has arrived from the East and bringing in the smoke from the Green Wattle Ck fire. There is currently no new threat of fires in the area. If possible stay indoors to avoid the smoke and please be watchful for any new fires. Report all new fires to "000" Triple Zero

17.01.2022 The Bush Fire Danger Period will offically start on the 1st October 2020 for the Southern Tablelands Zone (Goulburn Mulwaree, Upper Lachlan & Yass Shire Council... areas).
