25.01.2022 Introducing Hunter Valley Artist, Michele Heibel. Born into an artistic Swiss-German family in 1972, Michèle Heibel spent her childhood in Switzerland's Bernese countryside. In 1983 her family settled permanently in Australia. Throughout her schooling, Michèle's interest in art never wavered and in 1991 she attained her Diploma of Graphic Design at North Sydney's Billy Blue School of Graphic Arts. Michèle Heibel’s delicate artworks on black clayboard are created using only a... needle and possess a whimsical quality that will often belie a serious message within. 21.01.2022 As we closed the Exhibition for another year at 2pm today, we also announced the winners of our amazing raffle. This year, we had to organise an 100 extra books to be printed as the amazing kids of our school went into overdrive selling the 300 books. Well done!! 21.01.2022 Our 28th Annual @lagunaartshow Feature Artist is well known local and awarding winning artist @dorothyfcompton with 'Sun Setting Over Lake Macquarie' 50 x 50 cm - Oil on canvas. 'I am fascinated by the light and the effects it has on the landscape, it radiates an energy that transforms an ordinary scene into something remarkable. The last strip of light for the day shining on the edge of a cloud or the glow of early morning sunrise across the water. The changes of moods fro...m minute to minute evokes excites and touches my soul. I try to grasp and paint that elusive quality of light giving sparkle and life to an otherwise ordinary subject. I wanted to capture the last light of evening when the sun is setting and everything has a glow. This is one of my favourite times of the day.'
