22.01.2022 Lake Albert Golf Club hosted the 2020 fund raiser Ambrose competition last Sunday under the new Covid19 rules. 80 players from the region from Pinnaroo to Murray Bridge, Tailem Bend to Coonalpyn, Adelaide to Meningie converged onto the course for a 9.30 start. The weather was perfect and so were some of the scores; two groups shot 10 under par 62 off the stick however being a nett score event the Men’s winners were local team of Neale Biddle, Brenton Mitchell, Jack Richards a...nd Paul McNicol with 56.25. Three generations of the Davis family, namely Trevor Davis of Meningie, with sons Robert, James and grandson Josh Denton of Adelaide, were runners up with 57.625. 8 teams of 4 contested the mixed event with locals Geoff and Leanne Biddle with Gary and Jenny Hardy combined well for nett 55.25 to win this event. David and Deb Christie, with Kerry and Ali Walker of Lameroo were the runners up with 58.625. Vice President of the Murraylands Golf Association, Mrs Deb Christie, presented the trophies and over $2800 was raised on the day.
