Eggbeater is a style of kicking where the swimmers legs alternate one-legged breaststroke kicks. This form provides continuous support because there is no break in the kick, and in water polo, liberates the hands to block, catch, pass and shoot the ball. #lakemacquarie #swimming #waterpolo #lesson

25.01.2022 Lake Mac’s own Mighty Ducks. Formed part-way into the season, and with our youngest player at 12, our u18s boys played in the true spirit of the game throughout the year. Big ups to Riley and Zac with some smoking goals in the semi today - we didn’t get the win so that’s it for the year, but well done on a fun year, boys.

17.01.2022 Hi all, Welcome back to water polo for season 20/21! Hope you're all keeping safe and looking forward to getting back to the pool. A few brief updates:... 1. Helping hands This year we will look to engage more volunteers to assist with running all aspects of the club. Please let me know if you're interested in helping this year. I will be scheduling our AGM in the coming weeks and be looking for all committee and non-committee roles to be filled. I will be nominating again this year for president. 2. Training The pools are due to open towards the end of August - keep an eye out for announcements via email and our facebook page regarding training. We will be getting details regarding our COVID plan responsibilities to make sure we're providing a safe environment. 3. Season commencement We're yet to confirm when the season will kick off, but stay tuned for further details. Joel

I don’t know if they know it, but it’s been around 5 years since we’ve had a junior boys team. It means so much to the coaches and committee that we’re finally in this position. 14.01.2022 Similar to Charlestown Swim Centre, Speers Point Swim Centre will reopen to the public on Monday 25 May by appointment only. As the centre doesn't usually open ...during winter the reopening is a temporary measure to meet current demand. We will continue to reassess these services based on community needs. Bookings can be made from 9am tomorrow, Saturday 23 May by calling 4921 0782. Both swim centres will follow the same restrictions and safety measures outlined by NSW Government. Also in line with advice from State Government, squad training will become available from Tuesday 26 May at West Wallsend Swim Centre as well as Speers Point and Charlestown. West Wallsend will only be open for squad training. Bookings for all squad sessions are essential and can be made from 9am - 12pm 7 days a week starting Monday 25 May by calling 4921 0782. 12.01.2022 A truly memorable year for our Men’s B. This was the first year in quite some time that we’ve had some of our junior boys progress to become regular fixtures in the senior grades, and it was great watching the young blokes work with the old blokes to become a team. We went at least half a season without a win, but started to click to towards the end of the year and made it through to the grand final against the odds. We didn’t win the gf, but there were some very proud old Dolphins to say the least. Thanks for the season, lads. 02.01.2022 Who remembers this club legend!?! Greg Wales is a life member of the Dolphins, and keeps himself busy with various volunteer projects in Lake Macquarie. Greg currently volunteers with Landcare and Pelican Sustainable Neighbourhood Group, which are tasked with looking after the area around Blacksmiths Grannies Pool up to the surf club. Greg has also recently achieved a life membership for 25 years service with Surf Life Saving NSW being involved at Terrigal, Redhead and S...wansea Belmont Surf Life Saving Clubs throughout that time.
