24.01.2022 Hand stitching the binding down on my #vintagegeesequilt . It’s going to take me hours but a ladder stitch sure hides all stitches ! I normally machine stitch binding down but seeing that I sold this quilt whilst it was still in the making I’ll give it a proper farewell . #handquilted #handstitched

20.01.2022 I finished my second block ... lately life has been so busy and I hardly have time to sew ! Today I had a me day since a very long time ... 12.01.2022 Quilt for sale About 170 cm / 67 square 1400 dollars plus postage Hand quilted ( took over 40 hours ) Cold machine ( delicate / handwas cycle ) washable/ line dry ... This quilt has two sides, both are free form patchwork- improv - meaning no pattern was used just my own ideas worked out in fabric . One side is bold, busy , colourful and has adorable kittens in frocks ( Nathalie Lété) tons of coordinated fabrics from Anna Maria Horner and solids . For me it has a vintage look, being so lush and almost kitch. The back is the it’s modern sibling. Made out of solid ( one colour ) fabrics into a patchwork quilt . All these colours are found in the front, it’s compliments the front and yet is so very different. I have hand quilted the entire quilt in cream Japanese sashiko thread in arcs. I choose cream so it blends in to the front and is a statement at the back. Contact me if you would like to purchase this quilt. It just had its first wash

10.01.2022 8 / 48 Block 8 and it’s friends are carefully placed on two new sets of handmade pillow cases! Made by me, in a few hours time. This little block isn’t as bold as the others but when it’s all finished it will blend right in. ... Swipe to see all blocks abs swipe to see pillows on the bed by themselves . I never ever write down measurements , so every time I need to grab my pillow and place it on the fabric and cut accordingly... I remembered I cut them 20 wide but depending on the finish i need to calculate the length . I always make my pillowcase with a little flap on the inside so you don’t see the pillow itself . I cut a 12 cuff and the strip is folded fabric of either 1.25 ( striped) or 1 wide ( solid) . Pillow is finished 27 long - typing it here so I don’t have to measure again in the future . 10.01.2022 1/48 blocks finished ... I’ll tackle some big stitch quilting tonight so I can work big scale instead of trying to make the tiniest stitches with these pieces . I changed the wreaths i to hearts and made my border with a few more fabrics ... never feel like you have to follow a pattern completely, you can always add a bit more , leave things out or find an alternative block or ways of doing things if a certain part of a pattern isn’t your thing. A pattern is a guide , to help you along and then you make it yours . #scrappyquilt of course !
