17.01.2022 The school that we support with our partners is growing rapidly in Tondo. The following update comes from our partner, Jane Walker, CEO of The Purple Community Fund: We have raised funds for the air con units and three more computers. We have 253 school students in our programme and 200 more students are signed up for May 2019. We are working with the Scout Association to run a weekly activity for both girls and boys in the center every Saturday and have teamed with a group ...of employees from Magsaysay to befriend and work with the younger children. We are also applying to run the Duke of Edinburgh awards for the teenagers. Several training programs have already been conducted in the center and we hope to have raised sufficient funds to add an additional 10 computers in the center. 15.01.2022 Converting numbered forms to barcoded forms will pay for themselves in no time! Implementing barcode technology might sound like an expensive and time consuming enterprise, however it does not have to be. Make the process simple by starting with one barcode scanner. Focus on one task for the scanner and track the savings generated.... Barcodes provide a quick and error free means for inputting data into an application running on a computer. By using bar codes, the potential for errors from manual data input is vastly reduced. Barcodes provide a rapid, accurate and efficient means to collect, process, transmit, record, and manage data. The Cost savings that barcode technology creates will pay for the capital expense associated. Capturing data is faster and more accurate, costs are lower, mistakes are minimised and managing inventory is much easier. Some of the benefits generated by barcode technology are displayed below. Faster and Reliable Data Entry A barcode scanner typically can record data five to seven times as fast as a skilled typist. Barcode technology allows for real time transactions to take place rather than manual batch inputs. Barcode entry is 10,000 times more accurate compared to keyboard data entry. Keyboard entry creates an average of one error in 300 keystrokes. Barcode data entry has an error rate of about 1 in 3 million. Reduced Costs Reduced labor costs are the most obvious benefit of barcode data collection. In many cases, this cost savings pays for the entire data-collection system. Reduced revenue losses resulting from data collection errors can surpass the savings in labor costs. Using bar codes can reduce necessary inventory levels and save on capital costs.

15.01.2022 We are very excited to announce the successful installation of our first Solar System in Australia. With continued focus on sustainability and our carbon footprint this was our next natural progression after replacing all of our lighting. We met with many Solar providers and after rigorous process we partnered with SCE Solutions. Their team from sales through to installation were fantastic. We now see live stats on every single panel and can report as we need to with precisio...n. You will see in the last photo attached that right now one panel is low. That’s a pole that covers some of the panel mid afternoon. A great system, great for the environment and for the generations to come.

12.01.2022 In memory of Mr Peter Hicks who sadly passed away on the 25th January The Lamson Group have named the 19 Yamma St Entrance to now be known as The Peter Hicks Entrance. We thank the Hicks family for their time today, our valued paper supply partners and for all of our great team in organising the signage, lunch and overall co-ordination. Thanks must go to Hicksy for the memories! We are a small family company and we were blessed to have Pete in our family for 23 years.... He will always be remembered, and now he will never be forgotten.

10.01.2022 It is with great sadness that we advise that Peter Hicks sadly passed away on Friday morning after a long battle with Cancer. Hicksy, as he was affectionately known, was a great guy that always gave all that he had. He will be missed but will never be forgotten. What he didn’t know about paper wasn’t worth knowing. We pass on our sincerest condolences to Robyn and all of the Hicks family. Peter’s funeral will be held at:... - Sutherland Crematorium (also known as Woronora) in the South Chapel. - 1st February 2019 at 3pm. 02.01.2022 A very proud moment in the history of our sister company Integrated Office Solutions with the first classes kicking off in our educational facility in Tondo. Our team will be going there over the next fortnight to help paint and clean up the entire site so that we are able to educate over 300 children a year with basic living skills programs along with learning basic Math, English and Science programs. As the children grow we will be offering OJT (On the Job Trainee) positions to help this generation and the next get out of the cycle of homelessness.
