13.01.2022 Past student, Ella Norton, says ... "My favorite thing about Lance Holt was the sense of community in everything we did. The school felt like an enormous household, and I always felt supported by everyone in it. Morning meetings were a huge part of this, I think theres something pretty spectacular about a kid having the attention of an entire school for a recount of the sleepover they had the night before. It definitely made me feel like the things I did were important and worth telling people about!" Ella now works for the @Circus WA and @YUCK Circus. #circusWA #yuckcircus

12.01.2022 Our Year 6 students love the Literature Centre in Fremantle! One of them came out of the Writer’s Workshop buzzing and she immediately wanted to go in and purchase James Foley’s book and have him sign it. She raved about what fun he is and how his tips were so practical they just made writing a story so much more sense to her. When she saw her Mum she talked for 45 minutes straight about every aspect of the workshop and kept saying, This is it. I’m going to be a writer. When they got home, she went through all of her exercises in great detail and her Mum was impressed at how much humour and structure was in her cartoon ideas. #fremanteliteraturecentre #jamesfoleybooks

08.01.2022 Unfortunately, we have had to postpone our planned large community celebration due to the uncertainty and limitations under the COVID restrictions in WA.

08.01.2022 Chrissy is our School Registrar and the first point of contact for families. Chrissy joined the school community in 2002 when her young son, Jaedyn began Kindy and then in 2005, Finn joined his brother at Lance Holt school. Since 2007 Chrissy has worked in the school office taking on the role fulltime in 2013. We truly appreciate all that Chrissy contributes to our school community. Chrissy Smyth

07.01.2022 At Lance Holt School we take our learning beyond the school gate in so many ways! River School provides an opportunity not only to know how to care for the river but also to strengthen their knowledge of nature in through a Nature-Based learning experience. There are many opportunities for the children to develop creative and critical thinking skills and rich, in-depth hands-on learning. Our Year 4 students love River School! 07.01.2022 Prindy - Life at 3! In Pre-Kindy (Prindy) we recognise that being three is a special time in a child’s life when children are moving from the intimacy of the family and taking their first steps into the wider world and new places of belonging. With a focus on play, enjoyment and developing a sense of belonging, our kids love coming to Prindy. #positiveeducation #fremantleschools #loveoflearning

06.01.2022 Lance Holt School participated in the Low Carbon School Pilot Program, now called 'Climate Clever'. Our major initiatives included a rolling upgrade to efficient LED lighting, a Solar Analytics system that allows students and staff to monitor the school’s 12KW solar system output against our electricity usage in real time, and participating in tree-planting at Yarloop to reduce our carbon footprint.

05.01.2022 One of Lance Holt School’s strengths is the importance placed on the partnership we have developed within the Fremantle community. Children are able to grow with a sense of being connected not only to their school but also to a wider local community. One of our long standing partnerships is with Fremantle's Spare Parts Puppet Theatre which was first housed across from the school in Henry Street in 1981 before moving to its current location in 1987. #positiveeducation #fremantleschools #loveoflearning #sparepartspuppettheatre

04.01.2022 Through our Bush School program the children's connection to nature is deepened and broadened. They develop relationships with the bush and wetland areas of Bibra Lake and its surrounds. Through a careful weaving of planned and spontaneous curriculum the children make connections between the classroom learning and the world around them. https://vimeo.com/466055150 #positiveeducation #fremantleschools #loveoflearning #naturebasedlearning

04.01.2022 At Lance Holt School we LOVE reading!

02.01.2022 Lance Holt School described by one of our graduating families... "We've all had a safe place to grow up; a place that represents what good community education does for children (and their families) in inspiring wonder, joy in learning, in exploring the world, and in feeling as though they belong and are respected. I think that is one of the most precious things we've had in our 17 years at LHS - a place we've felt we belong. It is what LHS does so well. We've also treasured the school building, the way learning spills out and about in Freo, and the many gorgeous, creative, colourful, inspiring people we've met over the years. It sounds like a cliche, but we will always treasure the memories and we will miss LHS SO much."
