14.01.2022 COVID-19 Guidelines for NSW Bowling Clubs updated 30 April 2020 - Key Government Restrictions Bowls NSW - Women’s Bowls NSW Guidelines Recommendations Clubs may choose to allow greens to be opened at their own risk.... Still no social bowls or competitions - only roll ups as exercise. but only under following conditions: No one who is obviously ill may play all participants are to be screened Only two persons per rink social distancing rules apply There must be at least one rink space (an empty rink) between each rink in use Arrive within five-mins of practice and not before Players should practice safe hygiene at all times, washing hands for at least 20-seconds before and after participation Hand sanitiser and disinfectant must be supplied at entrance to club/greens and stationed at each green in use No more than 10 persons per green Only one person to handle mat and jack Bowls equipment MUST NOT be shared (e.g. bowls, cloths, measuring devices etc) Persons must leave the premises immediately after practice/roll up and cleansing of all equipment So the first stage of a return to bowls means the Club using voluntary labor must have a system of registration in place, a supervising team responsible for ensuring all conditions are met and that members are given a designated time in which roll-up while observing the above.

13.01.2022 From the AIS: Return to community and individual sport Community sport members and individuals should not return to sport if in the last 14 days they have been unwell or had close contact with a known or suspected case of COVID-19. In an environment of community transmission of COVID-19, any individual with respiratory symptoms (cough, sore throat, fever or shortness of breath), even if mild, should be considered a possible case of COVID-19. All community sport members must b...e made aware not to attend sport environments if they are unwell and should use a cautious approach. Anyone who is unwell should be referred to a doctor in accordance with local Public Health Authority guidelines. An athlete with a possible case of COVID-19 should refrain from training (even at home) until they have been cleared to do so by a doctor, given the potential for worsening illness. It should also be considered that anyone returning to sport and exercise after a period of social isolation and not exercising regularly may be at an increased risk of injury. Clubs and individuals should apply a graded return to mitigate injury risk, understanding that sudden increase in training load will predispose to injury.[63] See more
