23.01.2022 "Praying with others has helped put Gods mission back on my heart and in my routine. My one friend has had life throw lots of curve balls and heartache...on top of a pandemic. Gods created space for me to have conversations with her about the secure anchor of hope you can find only in Jesus. Im praying He would continue to show her that in this season." Prayer is powerful ... At Laneway in our prayer triplets were praying for at least one person we know to come checkout Jesus between now and the end of the year. During this time of distance and disconnect how can you pray - care - share Jesus with JUST ONE other?

23.01.2022 Got a half-hour lunch break? Want to be refreshed? Come and read Psalm 104 and pray. 12:30-1pm (starting in 10 minutes!) Psalm 104 is the first of three wonderful Psalms that close volume IV. This is like a David Attenborough doco journey, wandering in wonder from the heavens above to the depths of the sea below. ... It leads us to meditate on the glory of God in his creation, and long for him to be glorified. Its a psalm that fills you with joy to sing, Praise the LORD, my soul. Praise the LORD. https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89612909782

22.01.2022 Continue praying for our VIC healthcare workers "Fear can promote faith but also challenge it in times where we do not have answers. In the times we are currently experiencing, human reliance on God is highlighted. I aim to work every day as for our God, that doesnt diminish fear of working in health with the public during a pandemic. This is Gods world and we are in it. God ultimately has his hand allowing everything to happen or not happen for my good, that gives me peace... in leaving for work and helping others in this time."- Gabby Praying for protection, deep trust in Gods sovereignty and great conversations with patients during this time #Lanewaystories

17.01.2022 I used to be a bit upset and I thought my testimony was pretty bland! But now I actually know that its a beautiful testimony for Gods vision of families, that theres just the natural passing on of faith as well as knowledge. I have some memories of my father that I treasure. When I was in year 12, Id study until 10 every night and then I would come out and sit in the lounge. My father would be there, reading his bible. It was a really grounding and peaceful place to be a...t the end of the day to unwind. Theres something quite powerful about a father who sits and soaks up Gods word. The strength of the Lord is his joy, and that trickles out to the rest of the family. Another memory was that after uni, I decided Id memorise different parts of the bible. I asked different people for recommendations of favourite passages, and my dad suggested Hebrews 4:14-16. Its a lovely passage about Jesus, our high priest who empathises because he suffered in all the ways we do but did not sin. And the last verse, "Let us then approach Gods throne of grace with confidence so that we may receivemercy and find grace to help in our time of need." I think I need Gods grace everyday, so it was a precious gift that my dad would want me to have this in my heart and mind. In parenting I reach my limits everyday so I know I need Gods grace in my good and bad days. Even my very best efforts on my very best days cant guarantee the good things that I want for my children, and they cant make me the person that I would need to be to satisfy Gods demand for perfection. So I need his grace on those days, and on my very worst. Its comforting to know that my greatest mistakes and regrets are not beyond the reach of his grace. I think thatll be important to remember for the rest of my life. #LanewayStories

16.01.2022 From Sunday, We need each other to honour God together. God has invited men and women to relate to each other in complementing service. 16.01.2022 From Sunday, Hope comes from God! He is like a father who firmly holds their child so they dont get washed away to sea. Gods invitation to us is to step off the hopes we have and step into the solid and eternal hope he provides through Jesus. There is great hope, joy and peace, even in suffering ... 15.01.2022 Hip hip hooray! Were turning 4! 4 In two Sundays time, were celebrating our 4th Birthday! To get ready, were rewinding back to August 2017 where we celebrated our first birthday! We were meeting in a cosy lecture theatre at Victoria University, eating (amazing) chocolate cake, singing praises and giving thanks for our first year after launching. What an amazing God we have, who has sustained us, provided for us and and grown us all this time. What are your favourite Laneway memories? #Lanewaystories

15.01.2022 To understand marriage and submission we need to look at the model. We need to look at Christs relationship with the church. Ephesians tells us to submit to one another out of reverence for Christ. Christ loved us by laying down his own life so that we, his bride, may be cleansed, made holy and presented blameless and radiant before him. Here we see a picture of self-sacrificial love from Christ, and what a joy it is to submit to him, knowing that He is good and for our good.

15.01.2022 I have still been able to go to work everyday so it has been good to have that routine of leaving my home. We are doing more postal deliveries for work and the number of people has dropped significantly over the last few months, we get quite a few comments these days that its not as crazy busy as it used to be! Im always reminded to always be gracious and patient towards others in the same way Jesus was. Ive been humbled to do this in the midst of frustrations from p...atients and coworkers at work. It has been always been a great comfort to remember God is always sovereign and is in control, and I have many things to be grateful for even in the midst of the pandemic. -Frances As Victoria goes into Stage 4 restrictions, we continue to pray for all of our frontline workers. Were praying for protection, strength for endurance and a steadfast trust in Gods hand over everything. #Lanewaystories

14.01.2022 Were excited to be starting a new series today at church, Abraham, the man of faith Everybody is welcome to join us! Link in bio or use this zoom link... https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89083608440

13.01.2022 From Sunday, Pray. Pray, that our knowledge of God revealed in the saving work of Jesus Christ would spread all over the world. He calls all people out from sin to reconcile to God, living quiet and peaceful lives- characterised by godliness for both men and women. ... Men, lift holy hands to God in prayer. Women, be adorned in Gods good works. Our call is to reflect the goodness of Gods good design to this world and his saving grace through Christ.

11.01.2022 Follow us each week as we recount Gods big promise of blessing to Abraham fulfilled in Jesus. Catch up on the narrative by watching our recap of The Story So Far. Genesis 12:2-3 (God speaking to Abram): I will make you into a great nation,... and I will bless you; I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you. See more

11.01.2022 "I was asked by a patient if I feared going to work, and I could genuinely say that I didnt due to the faith and hope I have in Christ. But at the same time, following Jesus has helped me to understand the fears and frustrations of my patients in these trying times and to empathize with them. My hope is to be able to seize the opportunity to share this hope that I have with them." -Jae Mie Join us in praying for our health care workers across VIC and praising God for the hope He gives us to hold out. Were praying there would be so many of these stories in these times #Lanewaystories

07.01.2022 Weve started our Just One Prayer Triplets, praying for at least one person in our lives I wanted to share some encouraging news about my sister Sarah. My family and I have been praying for her to be saved for a number of years and last month, Sarah and her partner TK were brought to salvation in Jesus Christ! I thought it would be great to hear what God has done in her life as an encouragement to us and a testament to Gods wonderful grace and mercy. -Rik -----... 2019 was a pretty tough year for me, I had been in a 7 year emotionally and physically abusive relationship and had two beautiful little girls. I turned to depending on drugs (Marijuana) using it every day to try take away the the pain I had endured and believed it was the only way to heal my scars. Things progressively got worse and it seemed there was no way out! We both (my partner) believed the lie that we had to get clean before we could come to God. We tried and tried to give up using the drugs in our own strength, thinking we could do it! In the month of June 2020, I (Sarah) gave over my whole life to him and accepted his free gift asking him into my heart and letting him take everything into his hands! It is a lie that we have to be clean before we come before him, God met us in our worst and at our most broken! Trapped in the chains of our own sinful living. My partner TK saw the change God had made in my life and couldnt believe it, it was that I was made alive in Christ! It was no longer the Sarah he used to know! He wondered how can I have that too? And a week later gave his whole life over to Jesus Christ our Saviour too!! What we had been searching for was Jesus Christ himself all along! We are now made alive in Christ. It is no more Sarah or TK it is Christ himself living within us! " ---- Praise God for new life and answered prayers Praying there would be so many stories like this #Lanewaystories

06.01.2022 Id say for 17 years Ive been a follower of Jesus. I actually heard the gospel as a kid in public school religious education and I remember believing the gospel. I heard that Jesus had died to take the punishment for my sins and what I needed to do was to believe in him. He rose from the dead, and I heard that from my parents as well. Ive never not believed that. It always made sense to me. It seemed like the best way to live. I was told if you trust in Jesus then you won...t go to hell, youd go to heaven. That seemed like a no-brainer. So thats the why, but the how is another question. Ultimately the how is that God chose me and He called me. I wouldnt say I became a Christian until I was 21. Whilst I had believed the gospel, I didnt really know what the response entailed. I didnt know what trusting him in my life meant. I didnt know that he was supposed to be God as well as saviour. I think that it really came to me more while I was at uni. Its through the uni fellowship that I came to wrestle with the bible and start going to church and God, through that, drew me to tell me that Jesus had to be God as well as saviour. #lanewaystories

05.01.2022 On Sunday we started a new series to explore the life of Abraham. Watch the video below to hear about the story so far. Gods BIG promise to him was that he would be blessed. That his name would be used as a blessing. That God would bless those who bless him. And that all people would find blessing through him. The great news is that this big promise to Abraham has been fulfilled and made secure in Jesus! This reality is ours! See these words in Pauls letter to the Ephesi...ans, 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. 4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. Ephesians 1:3-4

04.01.2022 We sang a new song on Sunday called Living Hope by @philwickham What beautiful truths to sing and remember

04.01.2022 From Sunday, Jesus is our perfect leader. He did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many (Mark 10:45). Jesus shows us the kind of character and service we are to dress ourselves with and what to honour in others. As men and women we are to honour godliness and how we serve one another. God wants us to have church leaders who exemplify the heart of God, his purposes for his church, whose lives are godly and worthy of respect. Leaders who... give themselves to teach, preach, model, love and lead the church so that people would be saved. There is a reason why Paul says this is a noble task! Lets continue to pray for our church leaders as they continue to serve God and his mission.

03.01.2022 On Sunday we kicked off our new series, Gods Good Design. Gender is such a huge topic with so much to unpack. Who better to look to for answers than He who knows us and understands us fully? Isnt it good news to hear how God has made and designed us - man and woman, both as equal image bearers and inheritors through Jesus Christ.

03.01.2022 To sojourn (sow-juhn) : stay somewhere temporarily. As Christians we are sojourners just like Abraham in Genesis. Abraham longed for the new city to come that God had prepared. Hopefully this brings comfort and peace, with the news this week of an extended lockdown in Vic. We need to preach to ourselves that heaven is our home, we are citizens of another country.

03.01.2022 During her essential exercise one of our members has been collecting #footpathflowers as a reminder of Matthew 6. "Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe youyou of little faith? So d...o not worry, saying, What shall we eat? or What shall we drink? or What shall we wear? For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." What a great reminder of Gods care and mercy for us in this season, He is good and faithful. Turn your worries into prayer Join our daily prayer meetings on zoom at 12:30 or send us your prayer requests, wed love to pray for you!

02.01.2022 Bring your party hats along! Our zoom service will be on at 4pm, we will also be having some fun after service to celebrate our birthday Everybody is welcome to join us today ... Link in bio or use this zoom link https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89083608440

02.01.2022 Each year on our birthday we love giving a gift to gospel work around the world. This year were giving to Gladwin & Lish, what a privilege to join in planting gospel seeds in one of the most unreached parts of the world. Life is a little bit different for our mission partners, with Gladwin remaining in India while Lish and Ayaan have arrived in Australia as they wait for the arrival of the baby. Join us as we pray for them and the ministry in India. Pray for India, for t...he government and health care system as case numbers continue to rise Pray for the ministry, that it would continue to grow and that members would persevere as they meet online Pray for trust in Gods timing, as they look at flights for Gladwin to reach Australia in the next few months Praise God for continued good health for Lish and the baby See more
