25.01.2022 A further (good news) update Dear Members, I have good news!... Following discussions with Tennis Victoria and Frankston City Council, the courts will be available for play from Saturday 16th May, in line with the Victorian Government’s Step 1 easing of Covid19 restrictions announced on 11th May The following will apply to the use of the courts: Tennis Victoria have advised that each bank of three courts has been given approval to have a max of 10 players. Meaning the venue itself is permitted to have more than 10 players in total, provided no more than 10 are on each bank of three courts. To ensure this number is not exceeded only two out of every three courts will be in use. At all times adhere to social distancing and hygiene guidelines. The clubhouse will not be open. The public toilets adjacent to the scout hall are available. Use the hand sanitiser provided, before and after play. If possible bring you own. Bring your own balls No social gathering before or after tennis. TV’s advice is Get in - Play - Get Out As we will have a reduced number of courts, please be considerate of players waiting to play. Please consider advising them of a reasonable timeframe when you will be finished, in order that they can return at this time, to avoid people waiting at the club. If upon arrival the courts are full and you wish to wait, please wait outside the courts (not in the area next to the clubhouse), preferably in your car, until a court becomes available The courts will be open for play on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday evenings from 7.30. The club will not be organising tennis on these evenings, only facilitating play by turning on the lights. Please bear in mind that any breaches of these arrangements may lead to the courts being closed. So please comply, as any new conditions imposed on the club for reopening, may be more restrictive and subsequent reopening significantly delayed. Hopefully, when step 2 of the restriction easing has been announced, all nine courts will be in play. This may be at the end of May, but you will be advised as soon as we are informed. I look forward to seeing you on the courts Regards Peter Dawson

25.01.2022 The Victorian Government is due to announce the move to the second step of the re-opening road map from 28th September. Hopefully, this will include a return to tennis. Following this announcement, Tennis Vic will provide detailed information on what this return will look like. We think that this will probably be the same arrangements that were in place when we entered this lockdown phase. TV have advised us that they will let all clubs know the details a few days after the G...overnment makes their announcement. As soon as the club receives notification from TV and approval from Frankston council, we will be able to put in place the requirements for this return and inform all our members of the conditions for opening the courts. We're not sure when this will be, but we'll act as fast as we can to ensure a speedy return to tennis. If you have any queries please call Peter Dawson President LTC 0424 647 579

24.01.2022 ...and now we're even further back. Following advice from Tennis Vic and Frankston Council from 28/10/2020 we can play under the following conditions. Courts 1, 3, 4, 6, 7 & 9 can be used for groups of up to 10 players with no limit on the number of households within those groups. All players MUST register for COVID 19 contact tracing. This can be done by... - Using the QR code we've provided - Using the registration book on the table outside the clubhouse - Completing a registration form and placing it in the box on the table outside the clubrooms. Players are reminded to adhere to social distancing guidelines by staying 1.5m apart and following the Tennis Community Guidelines posted on the court gates. The clubhouse WILL NOT be open. The public toilets outside the club are available. We ask that everyone attending the club, use hand sanitiser before and after play - preferably your own. Additionally please bring your own balls and ensure that tennis equipment is not shared. Members are reminded that currently, they may not travel more than 25km from their residence or permitted workplace to use the courts. Night tennis is not currently available, but we are looking at re-starting socially on a couple of nights a week. Stay tuned for further announcements. Any announcements made by the Victorian Government regarding changes to these restrictions have to be approved by Tennis Vic and the Council before the club can implement them. The committee is proactive in seeking these approvals but as this process can take a few days, your patience is appreciated. Welcome back - see you on the courts.

23.01.2022 The LTC Committee has issued a statement with regard to our reponse to COVID-19 http://langwarrintc.com.au//LTC%20response%20to%20Coronavi

22.01.2022 An update on the use of the courts following the Victorian Government's Step 2 easing of COVID-19 restrictions. From Monday 1st June, up to 20 people can participate in outdoor sport and exercise activities and as a result of this, all nine courts at LTC will be available for play, with a maximum of 20 people per bank of 3 courts. Please ensure that you continue to follow this guidance for play:... - at all times adhere to social distancing and hygiene guidelines. - the clubhouse will ot be open - please use the public toilets adjacent to the scout hall. - use the provided hand sanitiser before and after play - bring your own balls. - no social gathering before or after tennis. The advice from Tennis Vic is "Get In - Play - Get Out" - please be considerate of players waiting to play. Try to advise them of a reasonable time frame for you finishing play. This will allow then to return at this time, and thus avoid people waiting at the club. - if upon arrival, the courts are fill and you wish to wait - please wait outside the courts (not in the area next to the clubhouse), preferably in your car, until a court becomes available. - The courts will be open for night tennis on Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday evening from 7:30. There will be no orgaised competition on these nights and the club will merely be turning the lights on to allow play. Please bear in mind that any breaches of these arrangements may lead to the courts being closed again. So please comply with our requests, as any new conditions imposed on the club for re-opening, may be more restrictive and subsequent re-opening significantly delayed. I look forward to seeing you on the courts. Peter Dawson President LTC

18.01.2022 ....and we're back!!!! We can use our courts - in a limited capacity - from today 21/10/2020. Play is allowed on courts 1 & 2 and will be available on 8 & 9 sometime later tomorrow. We are waiting for some construction detritus to be cleared away. We must still adhere to the restrictions imposed by the council and Tennis Vic. 1. Each grouping on each court can be from no more than 2 households... 2. All players must complete the COVID register located on the table outside the clubrooms or use the QR code provided, to enable contact tracing if required. 3.The clubrooms wont be open. Players can use the public toilets adjacent to the scout hall 4. Players must bring their own balls and use the provided hand sanitiser, before and after play and not share tennis equipment 5. Maintain social distancing rules (1.5 metres apart) at all times. We need all players to abide by all rules laid down by Tennis Vic and the club in order to ensure a safe return to tennis and continued play. Breaches of these rules may lead to further or prolonged court closure. Additionally, please be considerate of others waiting to play. It's been a long time for all of us and we'd all like to spend some time out on court as soon as possible. Welcome back.

13.01.2022 Langwarrin Tennis Club is pleased to announce that Peter Taylor has been appointed as the new Head Coach - we found someone with the same name - so it would be easier for all of us to remember. Pete was Head Coach of Whites Lane Mulgrave Tennis Club for twelve years, having been a Top 20 Australian Junior player and then a Top 100 Australian Men’s player. He played Internationally on a scholarship in the USA and Europe and has been involved in the tennis industry for the 30 y...ears. Check Peter out on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/langwarrintenniscoaching or his web site https://ltc.com.au For private lessons starting January 11th - https://calendly.com/langwarrintc - and book for when you want and how often. To enrol in Hot Shots, Groups, Squad or Cardio Tennis - head to https://ltc.com.au/ to book lessons or send an enquiry. For any other coaching or enrolment questions, you can contact Pete on 0420 946 465 or send him an email at [email protected]. You'll start to see Pete around the club from next week, so please say hi and make him feel welcome. Really pleased to have you onboard Peter.

12.01.2022 Following the Victorian Government’s announcement of the 5 day Circuit Breaker lockdown, tennis is not permitted until the end of Wednesday. Therefore the courts will not be open. Hopefully on Thursday tennis can recommence. We will advise as soon as possible.

12.01.2022 On advice from Tennis Australia, we have cancelled all formal tennis activities for the foreseeable future. There will be no night comp (Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu) or club championship matches until further notice

11.01.2022 So, one step forward and two steps back. The latest information we have from Tennis Vic and Frankston Council. All nine courts are available for play under the following conditions. - Comply with Tennis Victoria's advice... - Casual play for members of the same household or for 2 people from different households - ALL players to complete the attendance register outside the clubhouse, to enable COVID19 tracing if necessary - At all times players must adhere to social distancing and hygiene guidelines - The clubhouse will not be open. The public toilets adjacent to the scout hall are available for use - Players must use the provided hand sanitiser before and after play or bring their own. - Players must provide their own balls. - No social gathering before or after tennis. The advice from Tennis Vic is "Get In - Play - Get Out" - Tennis equipment must not be shared - No-one from outside a lockdown area may play at a facility within the lockdown area and vice-versa Please be considerate of players waiting to play and if possible, advise them of a reasonable timeframe for your finish. This will allow them to return to their vehicle to wait and avoid people waiting at the club If upon arrival, the courts are full and you wish to wait, please wait outside the courts (not in the area next to the clubhouse), preferably in your car, until a court becomes available. Due to these changes, the extent to which we can offer ANY night tennis, is being reviewed. Please bear in mind that any breaches of these arrangements may lead to us closing the courts completely and any new conditions imposed on the club for re-opening may be more restrictive and subsequent reopening may be significantly delayed. In light of the fact that the advice from Tennis Vic has already changed twice in a matter of days, it may well be that these conditions will change again. I hope that you and your family are well and are coping in these trying times. If you have any questions, please call. Peter Dawson President LTC 0424 647 579 10/7/2020

10.01.2022 A COVID-19 update from our President Dear Member, I’d just like to update you, on the use of the tennis courts, following the Victorian Government’s Step 1 easing of Covid19 restrictions announced on 11th May The government announced that groups of ten (max) will be permitted to participate in outdoor sports and as such, we are looking to open up the courts as soon as possible... Frankston City Council are currently reviewing the State Government and Tennis Victoria guidelines and will be advising the club on their conditions for reopening the courts. As soon as the Council inform us of these conditions, we can implement their requirements and we can then advise you on the dates that the courts will be available for play. I hope that this will be very soon, as I am sure, like me, you’re very keen to have a hit. Regards Peter Dawson President - Langwarrin Tennis Club 0424 647 579 12/5/20

06.01.2022 We thought that the announcement today (27/9) would include a return to tennis....but yet again, we've been disappointed. The club is to remain closed. We're hoping that the next step to be announced in mid-October might bring us better news. We'll keep you all informed.

06.01.2022 Monday night ladies tennis is starting back up again (finally!!). We cater for all standards and age groups and it's great fun. If you'd like to play contact Dianne Eichenberger on 0409 215 504

04.01.2022 ..and now we're back to no tennis. As per the State Government's State of Disaster guidelines and Stage 4 restrictions, all recreational sport has been cancelled in metropolitan Melbourne. The courts will be closed until further notice. Stay tuned for any further news.

03.01.2022 We're starting to ease back into our night tennis. Tuesday night men's and Wednesday night mixed are back on socially - no comp just come down and have a hit - weather permitting - usual fees apply. Thursday night will be starting soon. At this stage, we only have 4 courts available, but we're hoping that changes soon with a further easing of restrictions and the completion of the lights for courts 7, 8 & 9. Please remember, that all visitors to the club must register for COVID-19 contact tracing and the clubrooms will not be open

02.01.2022 We're in the process of consulting with Frankston Council and Tennis Vic about a COVID safe return to the courts - stay tuned!!

01.01.2022 To say it's the end of an era would be putting it lightly. After 30 years as our club coach Peter Jenkins has decided to hang up his coaching racquet. Both Peter & Lynn have made incalculable contributions to our club over the years, in the coaching area and beyond. Lynn was our Junior Coordinator for many years and did an outstanding job. Peter has mentored many of our younger players into becoming successful assistant coaches. I'd say we'll miss them, but hopefully, we won't get much of a chance and we'll see them around the club regularly. I'm sure all of Langwarrin TC wishes the Jenkins' a long, healthy and happy retirement. Enjoy.

01.01.2022 Tennis Victoria has just advised that all tennis clubs are to close immediately and tennis is to, temporarily, cease. This means that members and guests cannot access the club - even for a social hit. The committee will be sending further information to all our members, but in the meantime please respect our decision, as we believe it is in the best interests of all us. Hopefully, we'll be back to the game we love soon. http://langwarrintc.com.au/forms/LTCClosure.pdf
