25.01.2022 There’s still time to join little athletics! In case you missed it last week, we are offering another chance to ‘Come and Try’ tomorrow (Saturday 14/11). Children are welcome to join in with their age group without being registered to see what little athletics is all about. ... If your child would like to try athletics, come on down to banks oval tomorrow morning and see us at the registration table. We kick off at 9am!

COOKIE DOUGH: Online and cash orders are due by 23 November. This will ensure we can get orders to you before Christmas. COLOUR RUN: We will also be holding a colour run as part of our meet on 19 December. Fundraising for the colour run is open until 30 November and prizes will be received before Christmas. 25.01.2022 Lanyon Little Athletes is looking to fill some vacant positions on the committee. All committee members are eligible for discounted registration fees for their children for the 2020-21 season. CANTEEN MANAGER/s As with many non-profit organisations, the operation of the canteen is a key factor to the raising of revenue for the continued operation and improvement of the Centre. The canteen manager runs the canteen at weekend meets and maintains stock. This could be a shared ...role. PRESIDENT and/or VICE PRESIDENT Presides at each Committee meeting or any other meetings organised by the centre; Works with committee members and volunteers to enable them to do their roles; Represents the centre when needed, including Association meetings; generally ensures smooth running of centre. Our current president will be available throughout the 2020-21 season to assist a new president to transition into this role. Other positions are also available. 23.01.2022 This day two weeks ago Coles Little Athletics Australia launched a Bushfire Appeal round on 6 8 March 2020. We are delighted to announce that $26,943 was rai...sed through PB’s recorded so well done to all the athletes who recorded a PB. With an additional $5000 donated from Timing Solutions this brings the total donation to $31,943. This donation will go a long way in assisting families and communities recovering from the bushfires. This is the first of the Bushfires fundraising initiatives by LAA with plans to work with our commercial partners and Member Association and centres to raise further funds in the future. 14.01.2022 Dear members and friends of the Little Athletics ACT Family, The Board of Little Athletics ACT has made the exceptionally difficult decision to postpone the sc...heduled competition for the 2020 People’s Choice State Championships to be held at the AIS on March 14 and 15. We have carefully reviewed the rapidly unfolding coronavirus situation in Australia and have been advised by Little Athletics Australia that no little athletics meets are to go ahead this Saturday and Sunday. The competition that was held tonight went ahead with the full advice of local health and government authorities. There are other States that have also taken the same precaution in cancelling or postponing their Championships. This is an extraordinarily hard decision, but the safety of our athletes, families, spectators, officials and volunteers is always our top priority. We would like to thank all the officials and volunteers for the extensive preparation and time they have put into these Championships. Selections for the ACT Team to attend the Australian Little Athletics Championships (ALAC) in April will proceed as scheduled. On behalf of the Board we would like to thank you all for your understanding and cooperation; not only today but also through the numerous unprecedented events our sport has endured this season. ACT and surrounds and following the advice of the official authorities The safety of athletes and spectators will always remain our top priority in any decisions about the event. Any important updates will be communicated through our social media channels.

09.01.2022 Unfortunately due to the closure of Stromlo Forest Park the 2020 ACT Cross Country Championships that was due to be held on Sunday 23rd August has been postponed. Further information will be available shortly on a revised plan.
