24.01.2022 The final day of Timmi and Katie's BCNA fundraiser trek today. What an incredible five days with these fun loving, cheerful and heroic women... bad knees, blistered feet and tired legs didn't stop them from conquering the fourth highest peak in the NT. An unforgettable trek! It was with this same strength, determination and tenacious spirit that they raised so much money for this valuable charity. Excited to be already planning a reunion tour in Tasmania, October 2018 #wa...lkingcountry #BCNAlarapintatrek #toughasoldboots #tassieherewecome #aintnothinggunnaourstride #laughedtilwecried #reagitated See more

23.01.2022 We are Walking Country. Born from a love of our sunburnt country and a passion for delivering exceptional tours in the Red Centre, Walking Country offers guests the once-in-a-lifetime along the incredible Larapinta Trail. Extending 223 km long from beginning to end, the Larapinta Trail is one of Central Australia’s most phenomenal trekking experiences. Although it is a fairly new trail, the Larapinta Trail is quickly becoming not onlyone of the most popularly traveled trails... in Australia, but in the world. And you can experience part of the trail yourself with one of our 5 or 14 day guided hikes. Every part of your trek is planned out to a fine detail. Support vehicles follow along which means you need only carry a back pack with your daily needs in it. Each night you will camp out in beautiful private and permanent campsites as well as indulge in fully catered meals. The only thing left for you to do, is get in touch with us to book. Our next 5 day trek departs 11 May 2021.

22.01.2022 We give you the best experience along the Larapinta Trail, because we work with the best! At Walking Country we pride ourselves on the very high standard of our guides. They all have a sound knowledge of our local area focusing on its history, Aboriginal culture, geology and the natural environment. Just take a moment to imagine yourself sitting by a campfire with the wide open night sky as your ceiling while you listen to stories about ancient stories of the Indigenous peo...ple. It goes without saying that your trek along the Larapinta Trail will be one that will leave you awe struck with the beauty and mystique that Australia has to offer.

18.01.2022 Timmi and Linda's 7day trek! A great group with amazing energy and stamina. A little wet weather saw us swap a few days around, nothing our experienced guides couldn't handle! #larapintatrail #soflexiblewemustdoyoga... #walkingcountry #lovinglife #wherethebloodyhellareya See more

18.01.2022 Nine keen Amnesty International supporters/trekkers set off at the leisurely hour of 7:15am this morning with our guide Timmi to conquer section one! Mt Gillen and the ranges behind them were a deep orange as the sun rose over the horizon bringing smiles to everyone's faces! #dayonebegins #amnestyinternational

06.01.2022 Walking Country Are Hiring! We are looking for energetic, active and outgoing people to train as tour guides / trekking leaders and ground support staff for our 2019 Larapinta Trail season (April-September). Maybe you are sick of the 9-5, want to get out from behind the desk or have a passion for culture, flora and fauna. Full training will be provided to those demonstrating a willingness to learn, a passion for customer service and like to work outdoors independently looking after our varied client base. Contact Annabelle for more information or to send through your resume at [email protected]

05.01.2022 The second day of our 5 day Larapinta Trek is just as incredible as we head to the spectacular western half of the Larapinta trail. This is a 13.4km section of the trail from Serpentine Gorge to Serpentine Chalet Dam. This part of the walk offers exhilarating views of the high quartzite ridgelines that typify the West MacDonnell Ranges, including Haasts Bluff and Mt Zeil (the highest point in the Northern Territory). While it may be a shorter distance than day one, this section is only suitable for well-prepared and experienced walkers with a good level of fitness.

03.01.2022 Just one of the friendly - and adorable - faces you might see on your Walking Country Larapinta Trek. This little fuzzy guy is a Black Footed Rock Wallaby and our guides are pretty darn skilled at spotting them amongst the rocky outcrops!

02.01.2022 Wondering what you can experience on our 5 Day Larapinta Trek? How about this?! Your first walk is a 23.4km ‘leg stretch’ commencing from the outskirts of Alice Springs. Some beautiful views can be seen, particularly at Euro Ridge. The majestic and serene West MacDonnell Ranges are rich in natural wonders and traditional culture and are considered some of the best there is in Australia.... At the end of the first day of hiking, our Ground Support Vehicle will meet you at the picturesque Simpsons Gap and transfer the group to our remote camping location. Let the true experience begin as we rest in a region synonymous in the dreamtime (Alcheringa) of the Western Arrernte Aboriginal people and you can take in the spectacular desert night sky. And that's just day one of the trek!! Want to experience it for yourself? It's not too late to join our next 5 day trek departing 11 May 2021. Call us now or visit our website for more details.
