20.01.2022 ARTIST SPOTLIGHT Calle Luna Elizabeth Obando - bass & vocals... Originally from Pasto, Colombia, Elizabeth's passion for music started at the early age of 9 when her dad showed her how to play her first song. She soon joined a local community music group which led her to form a side project that focused on Andean music. After a few years she realised a love for the bass guitar and continued to play gigs around town. Elizabeth had the opportunity to play with some outstanding local artists including Danta Nativa (latin fusion rock) and BAMBARABANDA (Andean sounds from Colombia). In 2008, she recorded a solo album "Elicold", which brought together her passion for Andean and Rock music. Elizabeth then moved to Melbourne, Australia at the end of 2008. In 2009, she studied music at NMIT and started working as a freelance musician in the local music scene playing bass in various salsa bands such as; Santiago Son , @Victor y Los Muñecos, Orulas Crew, Carlitos Way, Del Barrio, Bataola, Kekoson and Orquesta La 45' among others. She has performed with The Electric I (conceptual rock), Joe Bataan for his Melbourne tour, The New MonoS, Alárìíyá and Lamine Sonko and the African Intelligence. Her musical career highlight being invited to play with one of her favourite salsa bands, El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico.
