24.01.2022 We don't need to tell you how crazy this year has been. You’ll notice that celebrations and activities usually occurring at this time of year will be done diff...erently. Including remembering our COVID-safe behaviours and following Public Health advice. Celebrations and activities will look different from school to school based on its size and the facilities they have available. But please remember the most important thing is keeping each other safe. Whatever your school has planned, please support them as they try to hold these special celebrations safely. #LearnersFirst #TasGovEducation

22.01.2022 Unfortunately we are unable to proceed with the Year 2-6 EOY picnic, scheduled for Wednesday 16 December at Freers Beach (Port Sorell), due to factors beyond our control and which, when considered against the Risk Management Plan for the picnic, are deemed to significantly compromise student and staff health and safety - the primary purpose of the Plan. A combination of : 1. High tide at Freers Beach at approximately 1.00pm (insufficient space for eight classes of students to... play on the beach) in accordance with the Risk Management Plan); 2. Port Sorell Surf Lifesaving Club’s toilets not available for use; 3. Weather forecast for Wednesday predicting scattered showers; Recognising that this will be a huge disappointment, the decision is forced by circumstances and the need to put student and staff health and safety at the forefront of our thinking, regrettably. Any questions about the info provided today, should be directed to LPS Admin.

05.01.2022 This year at LPS we’ve had a focus on responding to the results from our Student Wellbeing Surveys. We believe all learners should be connected, feel they belong, have a positive sense of identity, have reciprocal respectful relationships; feel safe in their learning environments, and that they should be resilient. The results from these surveys will continue to be used to inform our school’s approaches to student wellbeing. Watch the video of our wellbeing teacher introducing just a few of the strategies we’re talking and learning about at Latrobe Primary School.
