20.01.2022 A few photos from our final day of Launceston Festival of Dance. Adjudicator Summer Till was impressed with the strong team effort, jazzy groove and smiling faces in the under 10 jazz groups section.

20.01.2022 FESTIVAL COMPETITION UPDATE As we are receiving a number of enquiries regarding this years competition, the LFOD Committee would like to provide the following update. At the May Committee meeting, it was agreed that a decision regarding the holding or postponing of this years competition would be deferred until 12 June. This will allow the Committee extra time to review the restrictions that may be in place (or lifted) regarding the holding of public events / performances la...ter in the year at this time. Our existing 'open for entries' date of 1 June will be pushed out to 1 July and will also be reviewed at our 12 June meeting. Further updates will be provided later next month.

14.01.2022 A huge thank you to all the wonderful people who supported us throughout the Launceston Festival of Dance over the 9 days. To our wonderful Adjudicators Lisa Fernance and Summer Till who were extremely encouraging and gave very positive and constructive critique sheets. I could not have asked for a more professional and supportive Adjudicating team for our competition. The feedback from teachers, parents and competitors was excellent with many leaving positive comments on our... FB page. To our hard working Executive Committee, especially Lyn and Leah who have given hours of their time throughout the year and prior to Festival, I thank you. To our other committee members who assisted in the office over the week thank you also. To our Stage Manager Hayley who always remains calm and professional in sometimes challenging situations well done, I know it’s not easy at times. A huge thank you also goes to Hayley, for dedicating numerous hours in creating our fabulous new website it looks amazing! The entertainment supplied by numerous individuals on and off stage was incredibly entertaining and inspiring, Last, but certainly not least, goes to all who continue to foster the love of dance in all the children. The children benefit in so many ways by having these wonderful opportunities to not only perform, but to develop and grow into respectful, beautifully disciplined individuals. We are currently seeking new Committee members who would like to be involved in one of the State’s biggest and busiest dancing competitions.... Our goal is to once again have one/two representatives from each Dance School in Launceston and surrounding areas. We have a number of Dance Schools that currently do not have any representatives and would like to invite those who may be interested to join us at our next meeting. We are currently seeking representatives from the following Dance Schools; Dancezone Kim Roe School of Dance Bee Bop Dance Studio Jamie's Dance Studio Dance Connection If you are associated with any of the above Dance Schools, please speak to your Dancing School Principal and ask if she/he would be happy for you to represent your school on her/his behalf.
