25.01.2022 Another fantastic meet in beautiful conditions. Some wonderful performances by our athletes today with lots of PBs, especially on the track. Well done to everyone!!! Thanks to all the parents for helping out with roles in the track tent, marshalling the track events and assisting at field events. REMINDER: If an athlete has already participated in 2 meets, they must be registered before they compete in their 3rd meet. This needs to be done online and there is a link on our website to the registration portal. Results are up for today and can be found at http://www.launcestonlittleathleticscentre.org/results.html. 24.01.2022 Centre Champs - Week 3! Our final meet of the season has arrived. We are very much looking forward to seeing you all compete and enjoy your last events. For our younger age groups there will only 2 and 3 events for the day so we do anticipate that the meet will finish earlier than the previous 2 weeks. We will however take a break during the morning for some very special presentations. We will start the day with hurdles and 1500m so help with set up would be greatly apprecia...ted from 7:15am please. A few important things to remember.... * No Coaching ( words of encouragement are fine) * Meets may run longer than normal with heats and finals a possibility depending on numbers attending * Volunteer helpers essential for the day to run smoothly, particularly when we will be holding presentations. This is quite a labor intensive job which takes some of our committee members out of the mix for normal duties, so extra helpers on deck would be greatly appreciated. We look forward to seeing you all in the morning and sharing a fantastic afternoon at the pool with those who can make it. Please note: triple jump will not go ahead due to the surface of the runways not being completed as previous information provided.

17.01.2022 Endeavour Awards for Season 2020/2021 Launceston Little Athletics Centre What a successful season it has been for this athlete. This young man is a quiet achiever who always gives 110% in the almost 100 events he has competed in this season. He seeks out additional training to continue to pursue improvement, competes in state events, and gets results!! He has achieved qualifiers in 11 different events and has broken three Centre records this season a 200m record and two D...iscus records. But it’s not just the results that are impressive about him. He offers his support during set-up and pack-up at almost every meet, takes warm-up and stretches before meets, he encourages his fellow athletes as they are competing, and he willingly offers suggestions to them to help them to improve. He’s the type of young man that our younger athletes look up to. We wish him success at next week’s State Individual Championships. Congratulations. Avery Thomas! See more

17.01.2022 ***** RECORD ALERT ***** What a meet we had tonight with 42 PBs achieved and 3 (Yes 3!!) records broken.... Congratulations to; Chloe White who broke the U15 girls 1500m record by over 11 seconds, Cammi Thomas who broke the U11 girls 80m hurdles record, and Simeon McKee who broke the U12 boys 80m hurdles record!! A great achievement by all 3 athletes. 11.01.2022 The Launceston Little Athletics Centre AGM has been set for Monday 10th Aug 2020 at 7pm in the Yourh Advisory Room at Windsor Park (near oval, down from our storage shed). All committee positions will be vacated and become available for election for the 2020/2021 season. We value new members and need people to please join our committee for the upcoming season for it to continue. Training is provided, we would love to see as many people as possible come along to the AGM.

11.01.2022 Endeavour Awards for Season 2020/2021 Launceston Little Athletics Centre This athlete is everyone’s biggest fan. He can often be heard on the sidelines cheering (and sometimes even from the other side of the oval)! He has also had a great season. He sure does love a PB! He celebrates his achievements and everyone else’s. After he’s finished his events for the meet, he’ll actively seek to help at other events still running. His positive attitude and enthusiasm for Little Athletics is infectious and he certainly puts a smile on everyone’s face when they come across him. Congratulations.. Lachie White!

11.01.2022 U/13 Sportsmanship Award for Season 2020/2021 Congratulations.....Ella Grose Although this season has been disrupted by injury for Ella, she has still attended meets when she has been unable to compete, going out on site with her fellow athletes, providing support and encouragement to all. ... Ella, Is always willing to lend a hand, whether it be helping with set up or assisting the younger age groups, she does it with a smile of her face. Over the years, Ella’s age group has unfortunately decreased in numbers, particularly this year. This however has not dampened her enthusiasm for Little Athletics. She has remained committed to her personal improvement, attending training sessions, and always taking on advice provided by officials and coaches. We appreciate Ella, and everything that she brings to our Centre. She is a fantastic role model or our younger athletes, demonstrating resilience, determination, respect, and inclusiveness.

08.01.2022 Endeavour Awards for Season 2020/2021 Launceston Little Athletics Centre In this athlete’s first season with the Centre, she really has given it her all. She has competed at nearly all of the All State meets, attended various coaching sessions and competed in an older age group in the recent State Relay Championships. She has always got a smile on her face and has been improving constantly throughout the season. With such dedication and enthusiasm, we can’t wait to see what you will do in the coming years. 07.01.2022 That's a wrap for LLAC's 2020/21 season. We were sooooooo impressed with all of our athletes this season. Championship weeks can be challenging, but everyone did such a fantastic job, showing perseverance, resilience and sportsmanship. 03.01.2022 What an afternoon we had for our annual PB day with a total of 114 PBs achieved!! That is an incredible effort by our athletes. We had another record fall today - congratulations to Avery Thomas for setting a new centre record for the U/14 Boys 200m in a time of 25.8 seconds. From Tiny Tot last season to athlete this season, she has been steadily improving and gaining more confidence in herself with every meet. She listens carefully to officials’ instructions and has been working hard to improve her technique in all events. 02.01.2022 Endeavour Awards for Season 2020/2021 Launceston Little Athletics Centre With a late start to the season, we have all been incredibly impressed by this athlete’s dedication to improvement. Coming into a sport at U/14 can be difficult, however she has shown us all what is possible. She has shown natural ability and has been rewarded with some fantastic results, including reaching qualifying standards and setting new centre records in both the High Jump and Triple Jump. She has also worked extremely hard to improve her technique in events that she finds more difficult. Congratulations on a fantastic season and we wish you all the very best at the State Individual Championships Izzy Wing!
