25.01.2022 This is how the perforated plasterboard joins are getting Troweled @ The Discovery Early Learning Centre. A special product is first caulked in using a caulking gun. Then after it starts to set, is scraped back flat. After this the low adhesion tape is applied (this stops the top coat filling up the holes) then the join is Troweled with finishing product and tape is removed. Leaving a topped join that only needs to be sanded. Would like to make a very special mention to TIM(Ned) who is in charge of this process. Fantastic work Tim, absolutely stoked with your efforts well done. #process #lookinggreat #perforatedplaster

22.01.2022 Installing new ceilings @ St Helens Tas. Lovely day here on the coast. #sthelensplasterer #eastcoastplasterer #philthecracks

22.01.2022 This bulkhead is over 15m long and 1.6m wide. The curve on the end was achieved by wrapping 2 x layers of Flexible 6ml plaster sheet to achieve minimum thickness. It was also wet down to get this curved shaped. What a fantastic looking ceiling structure. Congrats to the architectural team from 6ty for such great design. Its been a challenge thoroughly enjoyed to build. #excited #almosthere #teameffort #designtas #healthhub #earlylearningcentre http://philthecracks.com/2019/09/18/challenging-ceilings/

21.01.2022 New Victorian Gutter cornice getting installed at Fingal Tasmania at The Rectory. Many free hand cuts as the building is well over 100 years old and the corner junctions and around the fireplaces are not square. #bigcornice #fingalplasterer #eastcoastplastering #philthecracks http://philthecracks.com/2020//01/victorian-gutter-cornice/

21.01.2022 The team are going great guns on this new job. Turns out this building is going to be a Rowing club and will be the 2nd biggest of its kind in Tasmania. We have had a busy week setting up the acoustic sound proof perforated ceiling as you can see in the photos. Architecturally designed for minimum noise, and will be aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Great job men. Looking fantastic. #rowingclub #newbuild #philthecrackstas

These photos taken high up in a scissor lift as we are finishing off the last of the plasterboard sheeting before we trowel up the joins, sand them all and hand it over to the builders from Maveric Constructions. 12.01.2022 Big house getting finished by the team. Been here 2 days and it’ll be all topped cornice all cut and half the house thrown up. #smashed #it #out. Sanding soon!

11.01.2022 This area of the build was a little tricky to finish. Firstly a scaffold was erected so we could build, sheet, trowel and sand the ceiling. Then it was painted and lights fitted off. Once this was done the scaffold was dismantled so we could then frame the rest of the walls and finish this space off totally. Including the massive glazed frames surrounding the stairs. 07.01.2022 The last 4 days the team and I have been busily plastering, sheeting and troweling the entrance and toilet amenities block on the new Hobart Snug Primary School Auditorium. We will sand these areas tomorrow so that the painter and vinyl layers can finish the spaces totally. The next task is the 9m high wall that needs finishing in which all the highest safety precautions will be engaged. #plasteringtasmania #plaster #howtoplaster #philthecrackstas http://philthecracks.com//amenities-block-completed-sung-/

05.01.2022 Reno’s St Helens on Shack 2. The client started troweling this job but soon realised they needed the pros to fix it up and finish it off. 4 days later all done to high standard ready for paint. Clients are ecstatic! we could fix this lol. Mind you the belt sander was out to take back the overfilled joins and internals. Then the repair could begin. Tear away beads against timber’s, adjustable splay beads on ceiling wall junctions and 50ml long leg beads around all windows and doors. also flex tape on ceiling junctions where different angles meet, slight angles but they we there. #sthelensplastering #eastcoasttasmania #philthecracks

05.01.2022 Still on the 2.7m high bulkheads at the Launceston Health Hub. When the metal framing on bottom is sheeted with 13ml thick plasterboard an external angle(exe) and arch beads will be applied to finish this ceiling space off, thus creating the desired effect the architects were after. Looking forward to seeing these spaces painted and fitted off. #healthhub #earlylearningcentre #launceston #tasmaniandesign http://philthecracks.com/2019/09/16/early-learning-centre/
