13.01.2022 Many people have been asking me about my Dry Needling and its similarities to acupuncture, so I thought i'd briefly explain.. While there definatly are some similarities between the two; both using sterile thin filament needles and both being inserted into the skin and muscle, the differences lie in the intent and purpose of the procedure. Dry needling is based on Western Medicine research and involves a more scientific approach to managing and treating musculoskeletal (mu...scle & skeleton) problems and sports injuries. Whereas acupuncture originated in China and is based on the belief that health is determined by a balanced flow of chi, the vital life energy which is present in all living organisms. I would love to answer more of your questions so feel free to inbox or message me, or set up an appointment and try it for yourself :) 0417165051 See more

06.01.2022 "Does dry needling hurt?" Most patients don't even feel the insertion of the needle! And once in, a twitch response which can be briefly painful is only brought on when the needle contacts aggravated muscle. When the needle reaches this portion of the muscle, a 'trigger point', the pain can manifest in a number of ways; some clients describe it as a little electric shock, a dull ache or a cramp, and usually dies down after the needle is in. Still not convinced? Try my super thin and very sharp needles, only 0.25mm in diameter.
