16.01.2022 Today marks 20 years since Sydney hosted the Olympic and Paralympic Games! At Sydney 2000, there were 31 University of Sydney Olympic and Paralympic student athletes. Representing a range of sports from diving, basketball, rowing and swimming. Weve chosen to showcase just one of those - Loudy Tourky (ne Wiggins) is a former Australian diver who won a bronze medal in the 10m synchronised platform event at the Sydney 2000 Olympics with Rebecca Gilmore (another Sydney Univer...sity Olympian). Loudy and Rebecca became the first Australians to win an Olympic medal in diving since 1924 and the first female Australian divers to earn an Olympic medal! Loudy was on scholarship with us and studied a Bachelor of Arts (Media and Communications) graduating in 2005 Sydney Uni Sport & Fitness University of Sydney Australian Olympic Team #SUSFEliteAthleteProgram #AcademicAthletes
