06.01.2022 Hi, my name is Lauren, but friends call me Lo! Many people get my middle name mixed up but that's okay, it's pronounced ah-leese. I am a passionate photographer that shoots weddings, families, children, fashion, music, events and more! I love to capture all the special moments in life! After admiring my grandparents old photos, I picked up a camera when I was 12 years old, and haven't put one down since! I started my business in 2013 straight after high school! I studied ...a bachelor of visual arts&design, but deferred to study a diploma in photography. In 2016 at 21 years old I made the courageous move to the big city of Sydney for an amazing opportunity at @sherbetbirdie_photography where I worked as a photography assistant for the beautiful Sasha!! I lived and worked there for 2.5 years and it was one of the best decisions of my life. I'm so grateful for Sasha and @mua_marija! September 2018 I was lucky enough to be my beautiful sisters maid of honour for her special day! Being surrounded by all my family&friends reminded me how much I missed them, so I decided it to come home and continue to build my business - and here I am today! 05.01.2022 If you were to ask me 2 years ago 'are you happy?' I would have said 'of course!' I would have lied. If you were to ask me now, I would say "no, but I am content and greatful for where I am now. I am ready for what comes next and in control of what only I can control. My happiness comes and goes, my sadness comes and goes but my pride of how far I've come will never go. 25 and yet to achieve so much more" I think self love is more powerful than any love and my gosh I finall...y have it, and it is wonderful. 04.01.2022 Some days can be easy, some can be great, some can be exciting but some can be hard. Really hard. Sometimes you can't get up out of bed and sometimes you can't wait to get up! Lately I've been struggling with some personal issues that have been to heavy to put a brave face on. When does it end? When does it get better? You start to think to yourself. I never know the answers at the time. But I always know tomorrow's a new day. Why am I sharing this? Because mental health ne...eds to be talked about, to be heard, to be shared. To be known that it is okay to not be okay. We all have bad days but social media seems to have a 'perfect life" filter. I am here to say that it's okay to ask for help, it's okay to talk about painful experiences, it's okay to have a day off and it's okay to not understand what you feel. Don't be scared to talk about it, don't be scared to feel it, don't be scared to listen to it. I'm not ashamed to say I struggle with mental illness. 04.01.2022 It's 3am right now and I wanted to share my thoughts on my/our current situation. Although we all may be going through the fear of unknown right now, we all need to try and think positive! I think I've gone through all the emotions of how it affects my passion and my business but stepping away from it for a while really makes me appreciate all the small things in life right now. Now is the time to do all the things you said you "didn't have time for." We can't control what ha...ppens but we can control how we act and that is to stay home and enjoy time with our families, cuddling with pets, catching up on TV shows, painting, puzzles, games, blanket forts, singing, dancing, taking photos of things in the house, going through old photos, video calls with long distance loved ones and anything else that makes you smile. Some of us may struggle but we are all in this together and if I can make one person smile with some bit of hope then I've done my job. Stay motivated, stay busy and stay strong!
