20.01.2022 Let's talk achievements! My greatest career and lash achievement has been being a finalist at the 2020 NALA Awards! I was a finalist for both 'Lash Studio of the Year' and 'Lash Artist Integrity Award' categories. The NALA Awards are open to entrants worldwide and only five finalists are chosen for each category. I still don't know who nominated me for both categories but I am so honoured to have been able to make it into this prestigious nomination. 18.01.2022 After more than 11 years of being a lash artist, I have learnt that it takes a lot more than a beautiful set of lashes to keep your clients coming back to you time and time again. The entire client experience with you at your salon has to be a one. Your social media, website, the booking process, your waiting area, how you or your team greeted them, the level of cleanliness in your salon, did they feel they were listened to, were they comfortable during the service, w...as there too much conversation, or not enough? After all that, they open their eyes to look at their new set of lashes. Then, there’s the checkout process. Was their aftercare advice gone over thoroughly enough, were they told about the recommended lash extension safe cleanser they should buy to make their lashes last longer, were they offered a time for their next appointment, did they feel rushed out the door as you welcomed your next client in? Even if they love their lash extensions, do you think that they will become the client that you want - a loyal, repeat visitor for years to come, if you or your team got any of the above wrong? The answer is . I believe that you need to treat each and every client as if they are the most important person in your life while they are with you at your salon. The main reason that clients don’t return, is that they didn’t feel like they were listened to, or they didn’t feel important at all to you or your business. If you want to grow, remember that it is much easier to treat your existing clientele like they are royalty, and keep them coming back, than to be always working hard to market and advertise to attract new clientele - constantly replacing the old clients that decide not to return.

05.01.2022 So grateful for the support of my @allure_lashbeautybar team throughout 2020 This year has been trying (for everyone!) to say the least, and definitely one of the toughest I have had to get through, but we are finishing it off with a bang! From a forced 9 week business closure in March, to reopening in June and rebuilding after losing more clients than we would have liked, December has been booked solid since back in October... The hard work and dedication of my team is a testament to them, and the love they have for all of our clients. There are no other humans I would have wanted to be working side by side with in 2020

03.01.2022 Let's talk policies How do you create and maintain your salon policies? Do you just 'set and forget', or are you a little more about adapting them regularly ? Here is your Lash biz tip of the week - have CLEAR and regularly updated policies... and stick to them!!... Set a standard of what clients should expect from you and have booking policies and procedures in writing to set, and maintain, boundaries for your business. Avoid the risk of unhappy clients misinterpreting lengthy information and ensure your team is also up-to-date and providing the most correct information. I know from experience what a lack of policies can mean!! When I was working from the spare room of my house I learnt the hard way and really felt like I couldn't enforce any policies. 02.01.2022 2020 wasn’t so bad... I might be the in the minority, but I still had a great year. Yes, my salon was closed for 9 weeks, but I still feel like 2020 was one of the best years I have had personally, and business-wise. I practiced being grateful for everything I have, for all the cool stuff I get to do, and for all the amazing people in my life... I stopped procrastinating on a lot of things I had been putting off for a loooong time I started saying no to people more I got to spend a lot more time with my kiddies and the rest of my family (even though home school had me tearing my hair out!) I stopped trying to do every little thing, and delegated more I built new friendships with some really cool people I worked really hard on my time management skills I started a new business... I was always too busy or just plain scared prior to 2020 I coached some amazing salon owners on how to scale their businesses I got a new puppy!
